Geordie's quest for health

Hi everyone,

I am a new member to the site but have browsed in the last 6 months and have found it helpful so I thought I would join.

I am a 31 yr old male 5'8" tall, 195lbs.

I live in Durham, Eng. But I am originally from Newcastle hence "Geordie".

At the start of the year I was a shocking 220lbs, so started a 10 mile daily bike commute to work which has seen a 25lbs loss so far.

I am pushing for the 165lbs mark in the next year, so I thought a diary would help keep me focussed.

I have just joined a gym with the intention of going 3 to 4 times per week.

I am a geordie too. What part of Newcastle are you from. I am from Fenham.

Congratulations on the weight loss so far. Good luck with the rest of your project.

My good friend Cord is running an exercise based challenge and I know that he would love to have you joining in. It seems an ideal fit for you with your cycling. Why not check it out. It is called something like MPH (miles, pounds, hours).

Not a bad day

10 mile cycle for work and to pay the bills.

B- Toast, Coffee.
L- Tuna salad, Kiwi Fruit, 1 pint water.
D- Chicken wrap, Coffee.

Snacks- 2 apples, 2 pints of water.

B - Toast
L - Ham Sandwich on brown
D - Pasta and meatballs

Snack - crisps (bad)
Coffee (3 cups) 2 pints of water.

Rest day from exercise

2 miles walked for the bus.
 
12/09/09

B - toast
L - Bacon Sandwich
D - Party chicken sandwich

Snacks party nibbles (at my cousins 21st)

2 pints water
3 bottles Newcastle Brown Ale (bad)
1 cup of coffee.


went to DaddiesDay with "N" (22 months). So lots of running around playing.

Walked in to durham and round the castle and catheral (4 miles approx).

Swimming - in for about an hour did a few lengths but good to spend time with "E" my partner and "N" our gorgeous baby boy.

went to my cousins 21st party good to catch up with family.

L - Nothing (watching the mighty Newcastle beat Cardiff)
D - Pork chops and vegies.

1 cup coffee
4 bottles lager (bad, watching the footy).

Snack 1 packet of crisps.

Went to the park with "N" via the paper shop, about 2 miles walk and play.

L - Chicken wrap
D- Pork chop, steamed carrotts and potatoes.

2 pints water 1 cup coffee.
1packet of crisps.

10 mile cycle (work commute)

B - weetabix
L - Ham sandwiches, 2 apples
D - Vege soup

Snack - 2 kiwi fruit, 1 packet crisps(bad)
drink - 3 pints water, 2cups coffee.

10 mile cycle (work commute)
1 hour body pump at the gym
 
16/09/09

B - Toast
L - Tuna Sandwiches
D- Sausage and mash (bad)

2 pints water, 1 pint cordial, 2 cups coffee.

snack 1 packet crisps
1 pear
1 apple.


10 mile cycle (work commute).
 
I haven't had a good drink in a while, a cold beer and crisps are my downfall.

but as a born and bred Geordie I feel it is my duty to support the local economy in the credit crunch, when i do have a beer.

L - Veg Soup
D - Chicken and steamed veg

2 pints water 2 cups of coffee and 1 glass of wine with dinner.
snack 2 packets of crisps (reallly bad).

10 mile cycle work commute.

L-Chicken Salad
D-MInce and dumplings

D-2 pints water, 1 can coke.


10 mile cycle for work commute.
gym - weight set 2, 2k row(8:41), 10 mins @5 on x-train, 10mins @9kph on tread, bike 5 warm up and down.

L-Mince Pie
D-Subway 12" Beef

Snack - Crisps
Drink - Water, 2 bottles cider(bad) 2 pints beer (bad)

watched night at museum 2 with "E" and "N"
went to match NUFC 3 -1 Plymouth.


good day for the match bad day for diet.

B-4 Quorn Sausages
L-Home made garlic bread
D-Mince and leek pudding


D-water and cordial
S-Crisps (this is becoming a theme, next week try to go crisp free).


No set exercise but sorted the loft out, painted the step and door cleaned up as my mam and dad had "N".
