... gasp ... over-training sickness ???

I've just recovered from a three day bout of over-training sickness. I'm not doing that much - about 30-60 minutes a day, but I've been pushing my body due to slacking off this year earlier ... new muscle groups hurt, raised pulse on resting and breathless, sore, got a cold. :ack2:

Does anyone else get this problem occasionally and have some tip to offer? Especially if stress has come into it, as it did with me?
 
You just have to listen to your body! Sometimes you may be able to go to the gym 6 days in a row, sometimes you may only be able to handle 3 days a week.

If your muscles feel more than the normal amount of achy, or you feel more exhausted than normal then you need to allow yourself a day or a couple of days off. It will be much better for you in the long run because it means you won't totally burn out.

If there's stuff going on in your life that is causing you stress it's especially important not to push yourself too hard.

There's nothing wrong with healthy challenges and pushing yourself a little...but learn to recognise when it's too much.
