Gaining weight from going to the gym?

Hi everyone, I'm new and just have a question. I joined my gym in early April, after going for the month I lost about 6 lbs. I stopped for a few weeks in May because of the end of the semester and lots of work to do at school. I started up again in late May and since then I've apparantly gained about 8-10 lbs. I'm not sure if it's muscle mass because the only fat I notice is on my thighs and ab area and my clothes fit fine.

My normal routine is 25 mins on the treadmill on the fat burning selection, and I then do 20 minutes of weight training/toning in all areas. Arms, abs, thighs, etc.

I'm 5'9 and the scale just told me I'm 175!!

I also do a 2 mile bike ride 1-2 times a week when I don't go to the gym.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Well I of course have the occassional "cheat" of fast foods. But I don't eat it everyday. I eat a lot of poultry and salads. Once and a while I'll have a cheeseburger, but not very often. Being a music education grad student it tough at the end of the semester with concerts, papers, etc. So I had no choice but to divert from that routine in May. If I had to choose getting a good GPA over going to the gym, I'd pick the GPA! lol. But thanks for your input!!
