Gaining muscle but losing no weight...

I really am new to this so I'd just like to know if this is normal or not o_O

It's been two months since I started working out 5 times a week (half hour each session with the treadmill). I started doing that at 175 lbs and cutting down my eating habits. I weigh myself a couple of times each week and I'm now hovering at about 180-182. I'm being told I'm gaining muscle - yet it's been two months and I've barely seen any difference...

In addition to that, I've noticed that the only parts of my body that seem to have visibly lost a bit of weight are my legs, the rest are the same. :p but I'm still 180?

I doubt you are gaining any appreciable amount of muscle considering:

a) You are a female

b) You are not lifting weights

c) You are dieting

If you were lifting weights, I could certainly see this being the issue. When someone first starts our resistance training it can be commonplace to see some simultaneous muscle gain and fat loss.

Simply doing cardio wouldn't be enough to stimulate muscle growth for most though. Were you active at all before this?

Do you know how many calories you are eating?

try writing down what your eating, it might reveal something. cus unless your lifting weights your shouldnt be gaining muscle. steve is right.
