I knew it was going to happen sometime that I would stop losing and I thought I was ready for it but I'm not. :p Anyway, I'm stuck at 166 for like 2 weeks now. I'm not sure what I ought to do. I just raised the calories..two weeks ago from 1200 to 1400 cause someone said it was a good idea..but should I lower them again? I exercise 6 times a week for 30 mins and also 3 times a week of lifting weights. I'm not sure what I should do.

I am still learning about the calorie part but 1 thing I do know is I was told exersice 4-5 days a week so this alows the body some rest time that may help with weightloss?Anyway your doing great and congratsb on the 55lbs gone you must feel good about that.My goal is to get where you are now by May fingers are crossed lol,Tammy

I think the adding calories was wise and it might take a little bit of time (2 weeks isn't a long period of time, since you've been in calorie deficit for so long) for your body to adjust a little.

Have you changed your workout habits since changing your calories?

Maybe you want to change up your workout to give your body a kick...

Read thru this thread if you h ave't already -it has good info in it...

This was a little snippet from a book I'm currently reading - the Shape Magazine Ultimate Body Book
Guidelines:
If you are no longer making progress in your fitness goals, chances are your body has adapted to your routine.

Missteps:
Sabotoging your plateau busting workout by:

  • Doing the same workout routine every single time and not mixing it up
  • Overtraining - working at too high an intensity and/or not taking enough time off between workouts
  • Quitting when progress stops

Ahh, cool. Thanks, I actually switched up my workouts at the gym...instead of treadmill went for the bike. I'm thinking of waiting a month before I weigh myself again but still of course stay with my 1400 cals a day and exercising.

My dad needed to lose weight a year ago so he bought a treadmill and started eating salads and fruit. After a month or so he stopped losing weight and either stayed the same or gained. My mom, a nurse, said it was probably because he was gaining muscle instead of fat... so it's not always a bad thing. Just try upping your resistance. I've heard that if you're walking on a treadmill you get better results by increasing your incline than your speed or your length. Just a few ideas. Don't give up! You've come so far... keep going! It'll start coming off again. Just got to get used to what you got now! :D
