Its not as hard as you think, if you get with the right team to help you change your life...but it is hard by yourself, especially if you don't really know what to do.

You're right. When you deny yourself sertain types of food you'll only end up craving them. Why don't you just allow yourself a little bit of everything but make sure you eat 80% healthy.

BTW -- Not all cereal is good for you. Some of it is laden with sugar.

I say get rid of all the junk/ unhealthy food. Keep snacks around that are good for you, I use almonds, celery is a good choice too. Everyone one here will tell you one of the keys is too eat 5 or six smaller meals. That keeps the blood sugar levels normal and keeps you from getting so hungry that you lose control and eat a ton of junk. Also it's suposed to help with digestion. Hope that helps.

Cereal will be out of your stomach in about an hour. That's because it's a carb. Each meal should have a carb and a protein. This is for so so so many reasons, but I'll just say the one reason that pertains to this post:

Eating a carb and a protein slows the digestion process. This means you stay fuller longer. This also does NOT cause a spike in insulin levels and then a massive drop in blood sugar levels... when that happens you feel sluggish and hungry and grab whatever is next to you.

Cardinal rule: eat a protein with a carb. every meal.

If cereal is all you had, then that explains why you got the cravings 2 hours later. You're denying yourself food and your body is responding by craving more junk (salt, sugar, etc.).

Eat that cereal (if it's not loaded with sugar) and have some eggs, or other protein foods. Make sure to keep eating healthy snacks thru-out the day. This way you won't get hungry.

It's really not all that hard...;)
