Don't know if this article has been posted before, but I found it very interesting. I would like some feed back from this forum on the views expressed.
Doesn't anyone have some thoughts on the article? The reason I ask is that I just switched from a full body to a two day split and enjoy it much more however this article says I am doing the wrong thing.
I skimmed through the article. I think it is your basic truth behind the madness. The SAID principle does not always highlight the Overload Principle in my opinion. Pretty good article. Cosgrove is a really smart coach and applies basic principles to this game....which you may find some don't.
The best thing I ever read concerning this was "everything works....for a time"
Personally, I stick with the Cosgroves, Johns, Waterburys, DeFrancos, Rippetoes, Pendlays, etc of the world where modern bodybuilder type training plain sucks unless you take drugs. Everyone knows that drugs make anything work.
Dan John says "the body is one piece". Pavel says "train your body, not parts of your body". Don't get stuck with one frame of mind. 3 sets of 10 reps is an universal training scheme but 10 sets of 3 reps is also very good. Some have success with training the muscle once every seven days while others squat 3-4 times a week and continue to grow.
If you're making progress on a continuous basis, don't fix what ain't broke. But keep an eye open for other ideas because there will come a time where gains will dry up.
