Frustration. Any ideas?

Well I've been steadily losing weight for the better part of 5 months now. And I've lost 25lbs thereabouts. But for the last 2 weeks, I've been stuck at 180.6. My routine hasn't changed (granted I do get much less sleep but I have exams) and I was able to get it down to 179.6 only to have it go back to 180.6 the next day. :(
This is incredibly frustrating because I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas anyone?

My largest area of concern regarding your post is how concerned and frustrated you are with a 1 lb fluctuation. If you want my honest opinion, you need to let go of the notion that the weight on the scale is the dictator of your success and emotional wellbeing.

That's critical in my opinion.

Secondly, you don't give us enoug information. What are your stats? What and how are you eating? What are you doing in terms of exercise?

Hi! Yes, I'd also like to know what your workout routine looks like as well as your diet. You said you haven't made any changes to what your doing and sometimes that can be the problem. Otherwise, you may have just hit a plateau which is completely normal and just takes patience and perseverance to work through. Anyhow, if you could give me a little more info I'd be happy to give you my professional opinion!:seeya:

Yeah, what Steve said.

It's hard to give any advice w/out knowing what you're doing now - what kind of exercise, how much, what are you eating?

But also, you have to remember that weight loss is not a linear process for most people. Your body accommodates and adjusts. Sometimes you'll lose and sometimes you won't. And 1 lb is not worth stressing about. 1 lb could be anything - it could be the extra salt you've been eating (assuming you have) or your body reacting to a change in your workouts ... 1 lb could be anything.

Give us more info and maybe we can make some suggestions.

Ok, well let me clear up any misconceptions (and I'm really grateful for your replies).
I've kinda exaggerated about the time factor. It's been... A month. Sorry, exams messed with my sense of time.
I think it's only in the last 2 days I've really eaten outside my usual!!
But I've been stuck to 180.6 for a month or so now. (And have riveted up to 182.6 as of today)

Usual breakfast : Post Shredded Wheat and milk
Lunch: A sandwich with deli meat (really lean, no beef or pork.. I'm hindu) And LOTS of veggies.
Dinner: Usually rice and stewed chicken, cooked with next to no salt.

I don't eat much, but as you can see, I have near no way of counting calories with this. Especially dinner, lol.

The only thing I could see is that in the last 2 days, I've started with the studying 10 horus a day crap. It'll continue for a bit. I don't really think I've eaten too much out of the ordinary here; but I have eaten a bit extra =S
The only other thing I can see is the lack of sleep, the stress level and eating extra sugar for energy sometimes (but not much.) Hey, I wanna get into med school from September, it has to be done lol.

I don't understand what you mean when you say you have "no near way" of counting calories in what you eat. Looking at your diet, it seems reasonably easy to total what you eat ... and I'd say just eyeballing it, that you're not eating nearly enough to support your body, which is probably why you're stalling out.

I also see that the only veggies you're getting is at lunch - so unless you're eating a HUMONGOUS pile of veggies at lunch, then you're not getting enough.

Also you're eating a ton of carbs. Wheat cereal for breakfast, bread for lunch, and rice for dinner.

You need to COUNT what you're eating ... and at your weight, I'd say 1800 to 2000 calories a day would be a good starting point.

Also, lack of sleep and stress will affect how much you weigh. It's much harder to lose when you're not sleeping enough and dealing with stress. Medical studies have been conducted that show ... you need to get enough sleep to allow your body to refuel and properly use the nutrients that you're giving it.

That's just my opinion, based on what you've told us! :)

Quite possible, thanks for the insight. :) But I'm not from a developed country; it's not that I can go out ever so often and get good food... My classes don't run like America's either; my work as a high school student is what you'd do in year 1-2 of a university in America(fact) and my classes run from 8am to 5:30, sometimes 6pm, standard, with an hour lunch.
Thanks alot though :) I need the convenience of the food which is why I don't eat much. I may have apples and stuff in between too. I'll deal with it how I can.

YOu don't need to be from a "developed country" to count calories or to buy packaged food. :)

You obviously have access to a computer, right? So use any of the sites that are out there to count what you eat. I personally use dailyplate.com, but there are tons of others that allow you to enter your food and the quantity and count the calories.

What kinds of foods can you get where you are? Are there markets where you can buy fresh food and make something to take with you to school the next day? With more information I'm sure you oculd figure something out. :)
