Hello,
I would like to try a fruit fast for 3 to 5 days, not for the purpose of losing weight (because whatever would be lost, would probably be gained back when I resume normal eating), but because I think it would give my tortured intestine tract a little break as well as my kidneys (I managed to get a pretty bad kidney infection and I am still on antibiotics, I would try this once they are healed).
I do not strongly believe in "detoxification", I think our bodies know how to detox well by themselves, but I do think it could feel refreshing and maybe give my body a little break from fried rice (fried in god knows what... this is africa you know).
So, I would like to hear from people who have tried it, was it good, was it bad, what did you do and why. I know there are skeptics everywhere (and I know some of them on these boards
) and online you can find a gazillion testimonies of people who swear by it, so I would like to know from you people who are all geared towards healthy eating and fitness generally, do you think it is a good idea?
