And the nut of it is this... it's not about me and it's not about anyone else. In this particular thread, it's about the information/topic at hand. Trying to simplify stuff for the sake of understanding is fine and dandy, especially on forums such as this. Over-complication of matters involving weight loss and fitness is a major problem in the industry.
But in this particular thread, complex matters are being discussed. We don't have beginners asking about the basics. We have people who are genuinely interested in hearing about the intracies... so context makes a world of difference here.
Would you barge in on two doctors discussing a patient saying, "you're wrong and you're muddying the waters too much," only to follow that with no factual data refuting what they were actually discussing? And if you would do this, what would you expect their reaction to be?
When someone comes in saying...
Ordinarily I subscribe to the belief that knowledge is power but after reading some of the posts in this thread I'm left thinking 'mmm...far too much intellectualising here' and if I may say so in my opinion not all of it giving accurate information.
given the above context and the fact that you followed these remarks with nothing opposing what's been discussed, it left not only myself (obviously) but everyone with a confused look on their faces.
The body isn't simplistic by any stretch of the imagination and when we start "wanking" about the intricacies of specificity and human adaptation to stress, things can get pretty complex. We simplify all over this forum (see the stickies) but in a few of the threads, things go a little deeper.
I'll add, my reply to you wasn't meant to offend you in the least. You can take that for what you will, believe it or not, but I'm only interested in the information at hand and having people learn stuff. If, in the process of our disagreement I offended you, again, I'm sorry. I hope you can look past this and continue the discussion.
If you can point out where I've misrepresented the data, I'll be glad to civilly debate the topic with you.
