From NYC & struggles with weightloss.

Well I am obviously new to this website and forums. I have been struggling with my weight for years now. I have been able to lose a total of 10lbs. here and there but it somehow [I know how] manages to come back. So now I find myself here, at the forums. I think reading other peoples struggles and accomplishments would help me along my own goals as well as reading peoples own advise toward me would be severely helpful. I hope to work with you all. For some inside information: I am 21 years old, currently 150lbs. at 5'1 and wish to lose a total of 40lbs. With that I will be at 110lbs. by the end of the year, hopefully. :seeya:

There's lots of good advice to be found on this forum, support and motivation too.

Start yourself up with a diary. work out your BMR using a web calculator. You need to eat about 500 calories less than your maintenance calorie level. Its easy to work out.

This way you won't find yourself starving and it should be fairly easy to stay on the wagon.

But you also should try to eat healthy foods. Cooking your own is a good way to go and minimise fast foods and junk foods.

REading my diary will give you a clue as to what constitutes a good healthy balanced diet - though i eat less meat than most people on here.

Also try to start some form of exercise.
