Well, I am a twenty-one year old, who eventually gained a lot of weight through out life. My life was not the happiest or most horrid one. However, I can write you a book on the many factors as to what caused most of my weight gain and still contributes to it today, but that would not be solving my current issues on keeping it off, and being more optimistic. I'll start off by giving you some quick measurements of my self, which are the following:

Height: 5ft '3in
Weight:210lbs
Bust: 44

This is all I have done at this time. I have been keeping a daily written log of things I have eaten, but now I feel I need more support. I tried the buddy system with my Mother which is not working out to well. I was able to get a buddy who has issues that are relevantly close to my current issues so it makes me feel comfortable because now someone can relate to my conditions and I don't feel as though it is just me. (Considering no one else is going through it in my family or friends.) December is six months away and I plan on losing 60lbs, by then. I guess it is a lot and too much but I am determined to make an attempt to lose as much of it as I can.

Sadly, I can not go to a gym due to the fact my money is strapped to paying bills and helping my parents so most of my exercising will consist of work outs at home and walks around the near by lake because I can walk miles by doing laps. I have not really had much of any support because most people only say good luck sarcastically or just say it won't happen. Frankly, it is important to me to lose weight not just the 60lbs, but any of it. My pregnant sister, had the nerve to tell me I won't be a bikini in Dec, but I am sure I will. But not to mention wearing a bikini is not important to me, my health is.

I am doing this for my health and my self, and I guess the most satisfaction I will have in the last 10 years of my life is my great boyfriend and proving others wrong about weight loss. So, here I present my diary to you.

Like you said, you should be losing the weight for you. But proving your sister wrong would be fun too :D I say you should throw on a bikini right now and be like, "HEY. I'M IN ONE. WHAT NOW" Or maybe that's just something I would do. :D You'll get some pounds off, and I know where to harass you if you disapear from this site!

If there's one thing I've learned in my short time on this forum, it's that there is plenty of support and motivation. If you haven't done so already, take a look at the before and after forum. The success stories there are incredibly motivating. You can do it, too! It won't be easy and you might fall a bit along the way, I know I did - and you're starting far younger than I did - good for you! The important things are to see the long term goal, get healthy and be persistent. I look forward to watching you achieve your goals!

A start:

So this morning I got up and went walking. I actually accomplished 1/2 of a mile, I went to the store and bought some can goods, and drinks for everyone at home. My pregnant sister was with me, I told her it benefits us both. As usual, walking was fun but this time I had to carry some heavy things which made it even better. I made it home and was still refreshed enough to do it again, however I need to clean my room up and it looks like an hour of work but I plan to cut that down to 30minutes.

Also I have not ate yet, so I am going to make some salmon croquets along with an egg, and another bottle of water. I shall update as my day goes on.

Nice job on the walking! You really are doing this for yourself - pay no attention whatsoever to the unsupportive family/friends/whoever...they'll soon realize how incredibly wrong they are.
Keep it up! :seeya:

So scratch that, when I made the Salmon croquets, the one egg, and grits. All I really ate was the egg and one croquet. And I barely wanted to finish that, I guess I was not as hungry as I thought was @10:00a.m. I allowed everyone to finish it all, and besides I've been demonstrating some good portion control over my food lately, in my opinion. So at 5:30p.m., I had two small watermelon slices and I feel great. As usual, I have nothing other than water to drink. I am also going to finish cleaning my room for once and actually get it done so that I can keep it up like I use to as a child, and be the old me again.

Once I am done cleaning, I plan to do my sit ups I want to push for seventy-five so I can get back into my old routine. Since I am confined to my house for a gym, and the park to walk miles. I am looking for some DVD's on exercising so that I can have more options and more daily routines, until I'm not strapped for money and can actually attend a gym.

Sure I will clean your room. My room is taking me longer because I decided to go through things again and rearrange it once more. And also my job is offering over time all next week so I think I will work my shift of 9:30 -6:00p.m. And then do the overtime from 6:00p.m.-12:30a.m. for five days because I need the extra cash now days. And I keep my Sunday and Tuesday off. That is a crap load of hours, but I am pressed for cash. And that shift cuts my food and exercise out.

So if anyone has some tips on maintaining your health when working a shift like that, sure I am pressing my self but eh it gets me ahead of the bills, so one day I can afford my gym membership.

As for today, I had no breakfast for lunch a beef hot dog (I know bad.) Also Ritz Crackers, Low Sodium. (half a roll) And for dinner I am not quite sure as to what I will eat today. I'm not so hungry, but might get full on veggies.

Try to get breakfast in when you can! It's good for yaaaaa.

For work... what do you usually do for meals? Take your own? Buy? I'm sure there would be a way to make that better.

For lunch at work I usually have nothing... other than water. I've been so broke that saving every cent counts. Normally I'd have $200 or so left but because my parents need money for gas or a bill I'm out of cash most of the time.

Finally was able to get out and do some walking I did 3/4mile but my Mother got tired and it was going to rain, not to mention I needed to run to the store. So to make up for not doing the mile walk completely. I did 40 sit-ups, and 30 leg stretches along with 10 toe reaches. I'm slightly sore but I might push for about 40 more sit-ups before I call it a night. I want to get as much exercise in that I can.

Good job squeezing some exercise in. For the lunches... you really should be having SOMETHING... I understand finances get tight, but try to get something in.

Trying to find a decent meal is hard, or at least one I can have. I plan on going shopping Friday. So I definitely need to get a list compiled of things I can have for lunch.

Yeah, I am going to force my self to eat it... It has been awhile since I have had it. Maybe you can help me make a list of foods I can have? Lol. I think I am going to do a Low-Carb diet, my intake on Carbs is way too much. Right now my calorie intake for today is 900. The night is getting old so today I plan to do my 40 sit ups if I don't get near seventy-five.

Have you considered using tortillas to make wraps instead of slices of bread for sandwiches? Most things taste yummy in a wrap! I used to make ones with onion and chive cream cheese, two slices of cheese, and two slices of deli ham.. they were YUMMY! You can put almost anything inside a tortilla and it'll be good. I would be happy to brainstorm a list of foods and whatnot that you may like. Hopefully I can catch you on MSN one of these days.. out schedules seem to be complete opposite!

For quick easy low carb things that you can take with you for your lunches, I would suggest:

Canned sardines - open & eat!
String cheese sticks - such easy portable finger food!
Make some sugar free jello to take in a bowl for a snack - or to eat with the cheese, tuna or sardines.
How about packing a salad? Add meats, cheeses, etc.
One delicious thing I love for low carb lunch is fresh mozarella cheese balls from the deli - chopped up with some green olives dumped in it. Even better if very very slightly warmed in the microwave to make them a little softer - but not melted.
Hard boiled or deviled eggs (yum - will need to get some of those made!)
How about some cucumbers & ranch dip
I like to make extra at suppers so I have leftovers for lunches - chicken, hamburgers, etc.

Some of these things aren't very expensive - and it would probably be better for your health and your diet not to go all day without eating. Also, do you have a bike? It is a fun form of exercise that I have been enjoying.

Best wishes!!

Suz
