So last summer my world was turned on it's ear. I lost my mother, suddenly. But from such a personally traumatic experience came two huge blessings: 1. I got to see first hand what can happen to you when you do not take care of your body & 2. Fearlessness.
In November I began what has turned into a journey inward. I set out to lose 60lbs. I'm 5'9 and started at 271...Oh my God, I've NEVER said that publicly before.
On May 1st I weighed in at 236. The weight isn't coming off particularly fast but boy the lessons sure are. Sooooo, I needed to share a pic with you. I've always been about covering it up. But good or bad, tight or jiggly, this is it. This is my body. And on my worst days when I've eaten my weight in junk food, it's been here, holding me up, keeping one foot in front of the other.
I won't lie to you guys, it ain't pretty. But it's progress. And I guess that makes it beautiful.
Sooo here's the pic from November to May. And hopefully you guys won't be too mean.
