Any suggestions for busy people who don't want the high soduim of those "diet" frozen lunches? Please post the recipe!!! We'd really appreciate it!:) I'll go looking in my recipe stash...

This is what I make for chili...

about a 1/2 pound of lean ground beef, and 1/2 pound of ground chicken
1 can kidney beans
1 can black beans (rinsed)
1 can brown beans
2 cans tomatos
diced pepper and onion
chili powder
cayenne pepper

whatever else you want to add! I make it in the slow cooker all day, then freeze it in these new ziploc containers with the twist-on lids. You can fit 1 1/2 cups in a container. Yummy!

Heyas Dari,
Thank's for a gr8 thread I will be checking it out
alot because I am 1 of those high sodium frozen meal eating
gal lol! That was a mouthful.:)

Here's another one I love, and it freezes great...

1 can fat free cream of chicken soup
1 1/3 cup water
3/4 cup uncooked brown rice
1 1/2 lb skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (4-6)
1 cup shredded low fat cheddar cheese (or Tex-Mex is good too)
1/2 cup salsa
1/4 tsp pepper

Mix soup, water, rice, pepper in baking dish. Top with Chicken; pour salsa on chicken. Cover and bake at 375 for 45 min. Uncover, sprinkle with cheese and put back in the oven for another 10 min.

Great

Why hasn't anyone else add more recepies, those two you gave us are great. I am definately going to try them, I am one of those all day in the office people, and do try to bring my daily dose of food to work, from my vegetables, fruits, vegetable juices etc, but the only thing for lunch I take are the famous frozen foods, which I think are the ones doing me in, it is great to find recepies to be able to freeze and just take the container for the day, I just wish I could find more of these healthy recepies, I am trying to get away from the bad carbs, I try to do proteins, vegetables, fruits, one starch a day which I usually save for breakfast because is either Kashi cereal or an whole grain english muffin with all fruit or something like that, even that is getting quiet boring, but have no other ideas for breakfast that is not starch or eggs, I also have eggs sometimes, but i try to leave the proteins for lunch and dinner, with a salad or vegetable, even eating like this I am totally stuck and can't loose the stubborn weight. I do cereal in the morning, then 10;30, either a vegetable juice, with a protein bar, and a fruit, then at 1 lunch is one of the frozen meals, and a fruit, then 2;30 another fruit and or vegetable snack, then at 4 or 5 a protein bar to hold me till dinner, at 7 some type of meat, chicken, fish, steak, and salad and another piece of fruit, and I am done for the day, but the weight is still not budging for some reason, and I don't think i eat bad, I do drink about 4 large bottles of water a day, and try my best to do all "low sodium" as I suffer from very high blood preasure, so I do check the sodium on everything. My only problem is exercise, that I either start all crazy doing great, but after 6 wks when i see no results that is it i quit.....

I like to bake chicken breasts with peppers, then freeze then in frezzer bags, they warm up in about 4min and then with some cottage cheese it makes a great meal to take to the office, or wherever. I also like to cook a potato in the microwave for like 5 or 6 min and then eat it with sourcream and chives, all you have to take is a potato and a container of sourcream and chives, these are easy and fast!!!!;) :D
