Framerdave's Diary

Hi all.
I first came on here a couple of months ago and left a post somewhere. Not sure where that is exactly, but I think I finally figured out this diary thing. So here's a bit about me...

After about 5 months or so, I've reached an amazing milestone. I started out at 375 lbs, and this morning when I weighed myself I was down to 296. I can't remember the last time I was under 300. My goal at this point is to get to 225. At 6'1", I figured I'd aim for that and re-evaluate at that point. That's a loss of 150 lbs. 79 down, 71 to go. I've gone from 54" jeans to 44". I can't wait to get to the point where I can buy clothes pretty much anywhere instead of the "big & tall" shops. What a rip-off they are!

I'm 41 years old and have been heavy all my life. I've been blessed with a little girl who is now 14 months old and adds a degree of joy to my life I've never known. I'm doing whatever I can to make sure I get to watch her grow up and walk her down the aisle one day.

I've been eating a high-fibre diet with lots of fruit and vegetables, I try to cut out most of the fat and sugar I used to live on. Once in a while I like to treat myself with dinner out or an ice cream cone so I don't feel deprived and then give up. Been there, done that. The key to the loss though is exercise. I'm on my treadmill every morning for about an hour. As the months have gone by I've increased the time and pace.

If anyone has advice on how to stay committed and how to avoid the pitfalls, I'm all ears! I hope to get the chance to chat with you all in the upcoming months.

Keep on working at it everyone!

Easiest way to stay committed, I've found, is to put together a plan for yourself that you can stay committed too - this is a lifestyle change, not a short term fix... have what you enjoy - figure out how to fit it into your day.. .a little preplanning can allow you all your favorite things and no deprivation at all - it's the deprivaton that leads to binging and falling off the wagon...

welcome to your diary and the site -much success oon your journey

Hi there Dave,

u will get to ur goal, i see it man

just stay focused and DONT QUIT

Wow! Congrats on the weight loss! That is amazing!

You definitely sound like you know what you are doing. I like to keep a small carton of milk duds in my fridge. Whenever I get a sweet tooth I eat one. It usually takes me 2 weeks to finish the whole carton, and the whole thing is like 400 calls, so that is 28 cals a day? Fine with me if it keeps me on the right track!

Keep up the good work!

Update

Hey all. Can't believe I've been away for about a month from here. Time flies. Just wanted to drop an update on my weight loss. One month ago I was at 296, today I'm at 286. That's a total loss of 89 pounds. 61 to go. I'm hoping to lose 11 more by Christmas, making it a 100 pound loss by then. Next year I tackle the last 50! Woohoo!
