I'm just starting here but my weight loss journey has been like most. I have lost 92 pounds only to get sick and put 65 back on. I started in Sept at 248 and am now 218. My highest weight has been 268. It doesn't seem like much progress now though. It looks like more because I can't seem to budge the scales more then 4 pounds in the last 6 weeks. I have been trying everything. I started a month ago doing an hour on the gazelle at 2.4 miles/hour and am now averaging an hour and 15 mins at 5.3 miles/hour and added resistance training and floor exercises about 20 mins three times a week. Still has not budged the scales much. My goal is 127 pounds but may adjust a little higher once I start getting close as some seem to think that will be too low for me at 47 years old and 5' 8". I'll see when I get down close enough to worry about it. I would like to lose about 40 pounds by the end of April when my brother is getting married. Yesterday I bought the Herbalife Ultimate program off of Ebay. A friend told me it works wonders. Nothing seems to work really well for me as I seem to not burn what I eat too well. I also have screwed up hormones which doesn't help. My goal in joining here is to get to know others with the same difficulties and keep my motivation up vicariously. Oh well, guess that's most of my "life history". Happy to meet everyone and I wish all the best year ever. :)

Welcome! Don't you just LOVE your gazelle?! I have one too - fun! It's easy to bop away a half hour while watching tv on that sucker...plus you always get the added excitement of pretending you're Tony Little! hahahaha ;) Maybe I should grow my hair out and wear a black baseball cap ;)

Anyways...welcome to the boards! I'm new too, but everyone seems so nice - it's great to have people who understand what we're all going through.

Good luck and congratulations on your new lifestyle!

lol
yeah 127 might be low for your height, but i guess it depends on your build also. i deliberately havnt set a hard core goal to get down to, i think ill wait till im closer to around about 135 and see how that suits me. I may find that i want to be lighter or heavier etc.
