10 years ago when i was 29, I was an avid runner, and would run 3 hours a day- i was in the best shape of my life, and even after hours of running, i was bouncing off the walls with energy-I'm 6'3, and look my best between 195 and 200 pounds. When I was a runner, my weight actually dropped to 175. My blood pressure was perfect, and I had such focus and clairity in thinking...

Flash forward to today- I am 100 pounds heavier-weighing it at 280. I am tired all the time, and have a hard time concentrating. My once perfect blood pressue is now high blood pressure, and I seem to have some signs of diabetes-(sugar cravings, occasional uber thirstyness) but am too scared to be tested )because everyone else in my mothers family has it). I am physically active- i walk everywhere, but am determined to drop down to 200 pounds, and hopefully one day be fit enough to run the Boston marathon....

Is there anyone here who has been in my shoes- who used to be fit- but gained a great deal of weight? How did you find the strength to lose the weight and regain your fitness?
I cant seem to drop below 270- no matter how much exercise I do...any advice?
Am I too old at 39 to regain the fitness I enjoyed when i was 29?
I must lose this weight- its killing my love life, as Im so self concious about my extra weight, i don't date anymore. Plus if i don't lose the weight, I might be on the road to an early heart attack..:(
