For the Clients: Who Would You Train With?

Let's get hypothetical.

I'm going to make up a small group of imaginary (but believable) PT's, and pretend that they all work in the one gym. I'll write up a basic profile of each and describe briefly your interactions with the trainer. Based on this information, I want you to decide who you'll hire to train with and why, and also what the other trainers could do to make you change your mind and train with them instead. Under specialisations, add fat loss and hypertrophy to everyone's list.

Trainer 1
Eddie
Male, 30's, is 100kg and muscular, has short hair and a beard
Specialisations: Strength Sports, Nutrition
Whenever you see Eddie on the gym floor he's either working with clients/members or cleaning up the place. If he's not already talking to someone else, he'll greet you with a smile and then continue on with whatever he's doing. Whenever you seen him with a client, they use barbells, sleds and foam rollers as staples of their workouts, and the sessions consist of a lot of yelling (both from Eddie shouting things like: "Come on, you've got this!" and the client verbalising their struggle) followed by a lot of resting.

Trainer 2
Laura
Female, 20's, is slim, pretty and perky
Specialisations: Kettlebells, HIIT, Circuit Training
Laura is your quintessential girly girl. She's nice, she's bubbly, and she gives a warm welcome whenever you enter the gym. You often see her clients using kettlebells, medicine balls, fitballs, skipping ropes and foam rollers. Workouts are usually fast-paced with minimal rest. A lot of noise comes from the workouts, but not in the form of yelling or shouting.

Trainer 3
Adrian
Male, 40's, is tall and clearly muscular, but not over-the-top
Specialisations: Endurance Sports, Group Fitness
Adrian is either seen with his clients, or not at all. As you watch him working with his clients, he seems to have a firm but gentle approach. Dumbbells, medicine balls, TRX and power ropes are all staples in his clients' workouts.

Trainer 4
Michael
Male, 20's, is short and has the muscle mass fitting for someone twice his height
Specialisations: Bodybuilding, Aesthetics
Michael always looks like he's busy doing something, although when there isn't a session going on, you're not sure what. He spends more time talking to his own clients and other gym staff than gym members, but is helpful whenever a member (including yourself) approaches him. His clients' workouts typically consist of barbells, dumbbells and machines with some of the most disciplined technique you've seen.

Trainer 5
Cain
Male, 50's, has a slim build and good posture, but looking at him on the street you wouldn't know he's involved in any form of physical activity
Specialisations: Musculoskeletal Rehab, Pregnancy, Older Adults
Cain is as white-collar a PT as you can fathom. If it weren't for the standard PT uniform, you'd expect to see him in a button up shirt and business slacks. When he isn't with clients he's often seen doing white-collar stuff like reading, writing and filing. He's soft-spoken, and when you ask him fitness-related questions, instead of jumping in with an answer presented as absolute truth, he'll give considered answers that amount to "yes and no" or "it depends," often accompanied with a little more information than you can fully process. His sessions typically use dumbbells, resistance bands, fitballs and foam rollers.
