Football Season starts 8/12/08

Hey everyone, thanks for reading my journal. As the title says, football practice starts 8/12/08 and I would like to be 220 pounds by then. I started at 253 pounds and an offensive/defensive tackle and want to be a 220 pound fullback next year. I will start weighing myself weekly starting tomorrow which will be the 1 week mark, and recording it on here. I will also post my daily diet on here. I haven't worked out for the past week though due to a pinched nerve in my right arm, so I walked my dog for about 25 minutes every day. So hopefully it wont have a negative effect on the weight loss this week.

I would like to lose this weight to hopefully gain some extra speed, agility, and endurance. I am 6'2" and 16 years old (17 in June), and going to be a senior in high school.

I want to lose fat while maintaining (most of it, anyway) my muscle mass. Most of my fat is located in my core area. I guess I am like most people and would just eat when you get bored or are sitting on the computer later at night. I have stopped this altogether. I have a lot of willpower, and basically, if I need to stop doing it, I will. I used to drink about 20 - 40 oz of pop a day, and I havent had pop in about a month now. I drink 10 (8 oz) glasses of water per day now and I follow a very strict diet (fatloss4idiots, its brutal). And I am a very picky eater so I have to often eat many of the same things every day. Thank God I like fruit and vegetables a lot though or I wouldnt have survived this diet for 1 day. I have an elastic resistance system that I use after school (everyone thought it was strange at first, now they all want to try). I really enjoy working out so that won't be a problem for me.

Well hopefully I can get all this gone by August. It would add up to about 2 lbs a week so I think it is very manageable.

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? I use fatloss4idiots diet and do a resistance workout 5 days a week.

-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? Friends & family. I like hearing my friends talking to someone else and saying "Dude, Jared is going out for fullback, there is our new offense" and stuff like that. It encourages me a lot.

-- How realistic is your goal? Very realistic I think

-- When will you start? Already have
 
Mondays menu is brutal... all vegetables. Basically I will be eating carrots, green beans, lettuce, etc for my 4 meals today.
