Flax meal bread

I never heard of it before. But sure would be interested, if someone had a recipe for bread or some other food type. This is most interesting. What is in the meal? Is it pure flax seed or does it have a mixture of wheat flour?

Flax meal is just powder flax seeds. I buy bulk seeds and toss them in a blender, you can just buy the powder too I think.

INGREDIENTS:

* 2 cups flax seed meal
* 1 Tablespoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1-2 T sweetening power from artificial sweetener
* 5 beaten egg whites
* 1/2 C water
* 1/3 C olive oil

PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Prepare pan (a 10X15 pan with sides works best) with oiled parchment paper or a silicone mat.

1) Mix dry ingredients well - a whisk works well.

2) Add wet to dry, and combine well

This is what I was going to try first. But I have read you can make anything out of it, pizza crust, muffins, bread, etc.

Fantastic stuff. I am going to give this a shot (the flax based bread). Thanks for taking the time to post it................Rep+ (so I dont get banned, LOL)

I hope some others have input on this great stuff. Flax is da bomb (lol). :)

Let me know how it turns out, I hear this stuff is really hard to pull off with out adding some flour into it. I'm just trying all the no flour recipes to start with. If you can get it to work its an awesome food.

I am going to try to do it without for the first attempt (and cooking splenda for the sweetner), and if doesnt work out, I am going to add, whole wheat flour to it. And so on with good ingredients, until I get it right.

I tried this recipe yesterday.
It tasted good for the most part except that it was kinda too oily for me.
I used olive oil. (extra virgin. is this too much flavor for baking bread?)

and I was wondering if oil was actually necessary. (i don't have any prior baking experience)
I am gonna try with less or no oil next time.
