Flabby stomach after large weight loss

Ok so around Christmas time i took it upon myself to get back in shape since starting secondary school i hsad been quite fat and at this time at 15 i weighed atvery large 14 stone and from then in roughly 6 month got down to between 8-9 stone and now orbit that weight and although geting much skinnier ive been left with a flabby stomach area that is really embarassing an would realy lik to get rid of it i still do a bit of exercise keeping at my weight but just really want to know how to get rid of it? Im male and im 5ft 8 ish

The absolute best way to get rid of that flab and develop a six pack is the complete natural way. Eat healthy and do lots of sit-ups.

There are lots of different exercises to help make it stronger and more toned in different ways. For example, you can do twist ups to help tone your obliques, the sides of your stomach. To do this do a regular sit-up but touch your elbow to your opposite knee every time you come up. These are a little harder than regular sit-ups but work very well.

You have to do lots of sit-ups and crunches every single day and even when it seems like your belly fat will never go away and you want to quit, keep going and keep working on it. If you continue to eat healthy and do sit-ups every day, you will have a flat stomach eventually. I would recommend doing at least 200 sit-ups every day. Stay away from fatty foods.

The above advice is absolutely terrible. Just doing ab exercises will NOT help you burn stomach fat to let your abs show. Also, you need fat in your diet, so for the above poster to just say "stay away from fatty foods" is not really correct.

Have you taken a look at the young athlete development section yet? There are some good sticky threads there that might help you... What have you been doing to lose the weight up to this point?

Just reiterating, DO NOT listen to the first reply. Ugh...

If you have a lot of flab in the stomach area, you may wonder how to tighten and tone the area. Don’t fret; there are certain ways to make up.

Making changes to your diet and exercise routine can help you naturally tighten the area without the need to undergo plastic surgeries. Sit-ups alone will not tone the area; you'll need to avoid fatty foods as well. Just read couple of advice regarding this issue:

• Eliminate foods high in fat and sugar. Reducing your fat and caloric intake helps you lose weight on all areas of the body, including fat in the stomach area. Avoid red meat, candy, fried foods, fast food, chips, pastries, full-fat dairy products and soft drinks.

• Eat mostly fruits and vegetables. To slim down and tone up, aim for a minimum of five servings daily of fruits and veggies. Prepare the vegetables in a low-fat manner by grilling, baking or steaming. Also, include lean proteins, low-fat dairy foods and whole grains in your diet.

• Drink a lot of water. Coffee drinks, soda and fruit juices add a lot of unnecessary calories to a person's diet and can make losing the excess weight in the stomach area difficult. Aim for 10 glasses of water daily to replace these drinks.

• Spend 45 minutes daily performing cardio exercise. Some examples of exercise you can do are running, walking, cycling, stair climbing and rowing. To burn more calories, interval training can be done during the workout. This involves exercising in three phases: warm-up, short burst of intense aerobic exercise and cool-down.

• Work the abs with targeted exercise. Targeted abdominal moves can build muscle in the area and reduce the appearance of any extra skin you may have. To do crunches, lie flat on your back with your knees bent. Lift your shoulders off the ground using your abs muscles. Perform two sets of 10 to 20 reps.

Keep in mind that it would take certain amount of time if you really want to tighten up your lose muscle in stomach area. Just keep up your all hard works.
