fitting into my DREAM outfit...

I can remember a time when I shopped at normal stores... barely. Honestly, I've always been at least a bit overweight. I was about 160 lbs when graduating from high school, but could still wear some cool things and felt generally good about my body. 90 pounds later... didn't feel so great.

So I've decided to do the tried and true method of picking out a "dream" outfit as an ultimate goal to fit into. But do I have one? Lane Bryant has been my stomping ground for the last 12 years. I don't even know what they carry in normal people stores! :) Now I have to figure out what I'd want to wear above all else assuming I get my dream body! Any suggestions? :)

That's a very good incentive to work towards.

I'm not sure how to solve your dream outfit question, but my suggestion would be to go with a friend to the stores and help you pick something out. :)

You might try several goal outfits. Stage them.
Dont go buying a size 8 just now.

I got a goal outfit that was a size or two smaller than i was. It was usually a month or two at most between them.
You need clothes when loosing weight, its good to have an outfit that will fit you when you shrink.
So far ive had about 3 pairs of 'Goal' Pants. My final ones are a size 12 (US size 8 i think) and thats what im finally aiming for currently.

Thats a really good plan Wishes, i totally agree. If you pick an outfit that is really really tiny, it makes the goal seem huge. Doing it in stages, gives you several awesome rewards on your way down to the ultimate insentive outfit.
I also agree with Tegee to bring a friend.
Have a great time shopping
Michelle :)

good advice wishes. I bought a few things a month ago that I actually fit now and was ecstatic when I found out I could wear them. It's probably better to go in stages anyway, as it seems like I always need new jeans. hehe :) I have a size 16 dress in the closet that I'm waiting to fit into. Actually bought it a long time ago when I attempted weight loss, but instead gained weight. :) Now I'm losing and a 16 is a great goal for now. I'm currently and 20 and haven't been a 16 for at least 10 years. I will feel ultra cute when I can wear that dress.

When I was *almost* a size 12 I bought some trousers in that size, and knowing they were sitting in the wardrobe, paid for (and imagining how good it would feel stepping into them!) really worked. :) So I agree with Wishes, go for something just out of reach, and when you get into it get another, smaller outfit.

(Or if you really want your "ultimate" outfit, get that as well? :))

i agree with Sprite..get something that is just a size or 2 smaller and work toward that first. I have a size 12 CK jeans hanging on my amoir(sp) so I can see them everyday, its great motivation, I can't wait to wear them!! Good luck

Howdy and welcome and goodluck! Thats sort of what I did to help me
with my goal.I started at a size 22 so I bought a pair of 18 jeans then made
it there then my sis N law gave me some nice clothes size 10-16's so this

ultimate goal! Goodluck and like wishes said start with a size or 2 smaller
