Fitness program from an ebook?

Hey guys, I am 18 years old and I'm 6ft 230 lbs... I am trying to loose weight to get down to about 185. I absolutely suck at writing intros so I'll just get right down to it.

For awhile now, I have decided to stop being a fat lazy oaf and become a serious athlete. I figured the first step is loosing the weight, So I'm considering getting a personal trainer.

I have not had a completely sedimentary lifestyle, but I do like to eat and that is my problem. But this would require constant dedication and a solid workout plan. A friend of mine recommended me a book from a professional personal trainer, Haitham Arifaki - Train like the pros (link removed). Anyone read it or knows more about it?
