fitday

I'd had to say your lifestyle being what you currently intake.. and your basal calories being where you want to be at.

Nope.

Basal metabolic rate/calories is the amount of calories your body needs assuming you don't move, or do anything except breathe, make the heart beat, and simply 'be alive'. Its kind of equivalent to your calorie intake if you were in a coma.

since most of us can move around, you take the Basal calories and multiply it by an Activity Modifier (the Lifestyle part of FitDay) and that tells you a rough estimate of your caloric needs with the activities you perform.

but, Fitday's activity modifiers are a little on the high side. seated desk work wants to add 1500 cals to my activities, even though i sit still for 8 hours a day, minimum.

Always remember, any BMR value is still just a scientific guess.
