My name is Amber, I am 20 years young and I weigh 153 pounds and I am 5'8''. My goal weight is about 130. I really just need to know if I am overeating and If I am I would like some insight on how to change my diet

Breakfast: Usually eggs, sausage, English muffin, and syrup

Lunch: Either 2 hotdogs with ketchup, or Ramen, or hamburger

Dinner: Always has meat to it, Mostly beef. I rarely ever eat chicken anymore (thanks to my previous fast-food job at KFC) and fish is not in my fiances vocabulary. But, I also make sure to have a vegetable such as Sweet Potatoes, Mixed canned vegetables, and a side of pasta or rice.

Any help for my inexperienced brain?

This is the only pic I could find of myself, as you can see I am not horrible but I should probably start with the losing of wieght and toning up before it gets to be too much... I am the zombie lol

Hey Amber, welcome :)

I can't really say whether or not you are overeating, since I don't know the proportions of what you're eating. That being said, there are a lot of improvements that you could make to your diet. First thing that I would recommend doing is trying to arrange your meals a bit closer to this:

Start with making 1/2 your plate from either 2 or more kinds of veggies, or veggies and a small amount of fruit. Then, 1/4 of your plate should be protein, from a lean source as often as possible. Lastly, 1/4 of your plate should be grains/starches (rice, bread, pasta and(for the purposes of this method, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, etc are all considered starches not veggies).

I think I would work on getting closer to these proportions, and then maybe work on slowly swapping certain choices for better ones (eg: swapping your breakfast for something like a 2 egg omelette loaded with veggies, like spinach and tomato, and a piece of whole grain toast).

Changing your food choices can take time, but work on changing the proportions of what you're eating and see how that goes first :)

There is also a great article here for nutrition advice: http://body-improvements.com/resources/eat/

Hope that helps!
