First six months were easy

Heavy Agenda

The first six months went really well. My food prep was organized, my exercise was regular and effective. Now thirty pounds have been shed but i still have more to go and things just seem to have slowed down a bit. What do you guys and girls do to keep the momentum or interest?

I held an interest for a year. And since that one year I cannot seem to get back in the groove. I have recently joined the forum as my last attempt. I post here as often as possible and read other posts to get me motivated. I have noticed the only way I can stay in the groove is by participating in groups that are just like me. People who are trying to lose weight got to stick together! So I post my progress in my diary a few times a week. I don't care if anyone else responds in my diary but it makes me feel better knowing that I am doing better.

AKnow exactly how you feel... I'm involved with many groups on Facebook to help motivate. But finding there is so many variables to everyones routine. I started a blog so I could share with a broader range of people but find its the same people from Facebook reading it, lol. Well, maybe we can help each other. Funny we both started at similar weights with similar goals. Congrats on your success up till now. My goali my birthday in May as well.

woohoo! I'm excited we can kinda compete against each other :p friendly competition that is.

Competition is good! Now I am doing a lot more free weight training and going more for body fat than weight... hoping for 200lbs with a sub 9%... 220 17%right now after 2 months in gym and 4 months cardio.. diet and cardio got me down to 215..

If its exercise motivation you're looking for, the gym isn't always the answer. finding a sport that actively requires you to turn up is always quite a good place to start. For me this was boxing, as i was trying to make a squad that, were I not to turn up to training, I wouldn't have made. But team sports are a good example, as they push you to go even when you dont want to, as you ruin the experience for others if you don't. the best example ive seen is rowing, as people cannot go out unless they have everyone there (although that's a pretty difficult sport to get into). Other examples would be finding opponent sports, like tennis, badminton, squash (one of the best workouts you can have!), for which you have a regular partner to play against. a lot of clubs can be quite cheap, and often run ladders that mean you'll always have an opponent to play. Plus, team sports tend to keep interest for longer - they're more fun in my opinion than operating alone in a gym.
