Hi There, just found the site, and thought i would share my experiences so far, who knows they might help. I am 6ft 4" and currently weigh 19stone (270 pounds). but my journey started some 15 months ago when (feb 09) my marriage ended, and thats what kick started me into losing weight. Back then i weighed 25 stone, 350 pounds. I started by cutting out immediate problems, like coke, fast foods etc, and started going to the gym everyday, but due to my size i found it very difficult, and could only manage about 10 minutes before collapsing on the floor and hyper-ventilating! then i would swim for a bit, which in comparison was a walk in the park!

Slowly the running got easier and easier, and i was able to manage a 3 mile run everyday at a speed of 6-6.5 mph. slowly my weight came down, and by October last year i was down to about 22 stone, i then lost interest in the gym, but carried on eating sensibly, so never put anymore weight back on. Then beginning of april this year i started going running again, and surprisingly picked up from where i left off. now i run for 4.5 miles at 6.3mph have a breather and then do a 1.5 mile walk uphill (7%) incline, at 4.3 mph. And then do a 30 minute swim thereafter. This i do everyday, which is very difficult sometimes, but i know it must be done. unfortunately i never took any photos when i started, although i did take some part way through. I will upload them at them some point, and take some of me now, personally i cant see a difference, maybe you can? i only want honest opinions though, One thing i have learnt is that during weight loss, you need people to be harsh with you, and tell you the truth, that way when you get the "nice" comments, they mean so much. Anyway, my journey continues, sorry if its longwinded, but i hope in some way it helps. I will gladly accept any friend requests or questions, if it will help some more.

Welcome to the site! Sounds like you know what works and the amount you've lost already is AMAZING. Keep up the good work and stick with it :)

Thanks sunflower, yes it does seem to be working, especially where fitting into clothes is concerned, however i have just looked at my pictures, and really cannot se a difference, so for that reason i will not be posting them, plus the fact that they look bloody awful! maybe later on this year if i see a bigger improvement

There WILL be a difference. I can never spot a difference in most of mine but others have told me it's there and if there is a difference in me a 30lbs there is a difference in yours because you've lost a ton of weight!! You should take measurements though--I use them because you can check the inches lost when you can't *see* the losses in photos. I'm sure you do look different though, but it's up to you if you chose to post them or not :)
