First HIIT session

Today I wanted to find out for sure what my MHR was. And what better way then to HIIT! I wanted to try it anyways. :)

I HIIT on the stationary bike and did a 10 minute warmup gradually bringing my HR from 90 - 170 BPM (used a HR watch) and then started my first interval (60s on/60s off). All I can say is WOW! I had not breathed that hard in a long long time. I think HIIT warps you to another dimension where time stops. I tried my very best not to look at the watch, which I did quite well considering. I wanted to put all the effort I had into it.

My HR went to 190 on all four sets, and no matter how much effort I put in I could not reach 191. Being 30 years old would make the standard HR formula nearly perfect for me. It's great to finally know my true MHR so I can know what intensity I'm at. I had previously thought it to be much much higher. Hmmm, oh well.

So now I feel kinda nauseous and drunken while walking around the house. :jump1:

So there's my story. My first HIIT session. :D
