First Day for the Last Time

Hi everyone! Just joined a few days ago but haven't posted yet and I thought I would introduce myself. I'm 23 years old, married, and have dealt with being overweight for most of my life. I'm 5'4" and right now I weigh 195 lbs. and about a size 14-16. Only two years ago I weighed 135 lbs. and was a size 8, but since I've been married my diet (meaning the food I eat, not an actual diet plan) has went to hell. I'm not a cook and it was just easier to eat junk all the time.

I chose my username because even when I was thinner, my stomach was always flabby and this time when I lose the weight I hope to find my abs. :)

Today is my first day for the last time, meaning I'm tired of yo-yoing my weight. I just got off my elliptical on which I spent 30 very hard minutes, and I feel exhausted and gross but great at the same time.

I've been reading a lot of posts on here, and they really have been helping me feel motivated. Thanks everyone for sharing! :)

Wanted to say hello

Hi Lookin4MyAbs, :seeya:

Wanted to say hello. What is your plan and goals. I have found that setting a long term goal with lots of min goals in between has help me stay focues so far. How about you?

Good Luck Little One!

Hi Jeanne,

Thanks for the reply. In the past I had a lot of success with 45-60 minutes of cardio every day along with strength training every other day. Back then I was trying to lose weight as fast as I could and I think I was a little obsessed with exercising. For now my goal is to do 30 minutes of cardio 5 days a week (eventually increasing this to 45-60 minutes) and strength training 3 times a week.

As far as my diet goes, that's always been the much harder part. There's the obvious things I will do, like cutting out fast food, junk food, and soft drinks all together, drinking a lot more water, eating a lot more fruit and vegetables, but I'm wondering if I should be counting calories. (I hate counting calories!) I think I'm going to modify my diet a little at a time, adjust as I go, and if I feel like I have to, count calories.

My long term goal is to be 125 and a size 6. That's what I'm shooting for, but I am not obsessed with those numbers. I will judge more by what I see in the mirror and the way I feel. I will take this one pound at a time.

Nice to meet you,

Priscilla

Sounds like you have it together

Hi Jeanne,

(I hate counting calories!)

Priscilla

I hate counting them too. Just takes way to much time if you cooking your own food from scratch. If you have done a BUNCH of diets you kind of know what you should or should not be eating. But if we are not losing then that is when it would be time to count to see if it is from to many or not enough.

Sounds like you have it together .. at-a-girl!

Jeanne
