Okay why when I signed up to this site I thought I would have the motivation to do it?....

I been yo-yoing between the same 10 pounds for the last 5 months and I just need to stop. I been doing well for the last week not OVER EATING and not eating junk food... Finally!

Well 2morrow I am going to the gym first thing in the morning after I drop the kid off, I will try to elliptical for an hour and hopefully I can get through it I guess we'll see what happens then.
 
Hi Kina! I'm new here, too :). Been lurking a bit and finally decided to join.

I had an elliptical but it broke. I miss it, and havent replaced it with anything yet. And no gym membership, so I've been doing aerobic video's and started playing DDR. My daughter looks at me pretty funny when I get on the dance mat!

Thanks I did the hour today from about 9:30 to 10:30 and I also ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast... I was a kind of tired, I am thinking about going to take a nap and then doing another hour tonight I hope that isnt too much.

I am going to really try to stick to this routine because I need a change I was laying in bed the other night and realized I gained 40 pounds in 2 years and that's a lot I am hoping to lose maybe 10 pounds a month.

Well I am off to take a nap but let me prepare a salad I think later I will stock up on some grapes, plums and strawberries but I know that's going to cost me about $40 because the prices of things are sky rocketing. Last week I spent $8.00 on a average size bag of green grapes I wanted to die.

the prices of fruits are astouonding arent' they? I think I paid 8 dollars the other day for a few tomatoes - rididulous..

So tell me. Do you know WHY you are yo-yo-ing back and forth?
 
I completely understand the fruit price frustration! I love blueberries but now I buy them frozen. I buy frozen strawberries too. I'm cheap I guess ;). But I dont really like fruit much so I mix my frozen fruits (I'll freeze anything) with a half cup of vanilla ice cream. Not a ton of ice cream, but I throw in a ton of fruit. And I have that for dinner once a week. I like it :). And on really hot days after a walk, I like a frozen banana. Go ahead, think I'm crazy ;). I dont mind :). Even though I was a vegetarian for three years (now I eat chicken again), I never used to eat enough fruit or veggies so I've really been working on that lately. I just ate tons of pasta and cheese... not necessarily the best vegetarian diet!

I'm glad you were able to do the hour this morning. I hope you enjoyed your nap! I could go for one of those, too.

I guess its due to the weather my bff asked me to pick up 5 lemons when I drove over to her house to drop em off I was like that's 3.58 she was like :eek2: lol but I never remember paying so much for veggies and fruits.

When I buy romaine lettuce in the store I break off the part I am not eating no point in paying for the stalk (sp).

I think the yo yo effect is from me trying then giving up one week HEALTHY next week junk so sad I know but I just broke up with my bf and I realized I need a new look and that will boose my self esteem.

So far today I stuck to my plan NO JUNK or sodas yet and I am a pepsi kid so I am proud of myself.

I am going to hit the gym again in the morning for another long hour can't wait. Although the machine was boring it went pretty quick. I think I am going to burn some dvd's and watch it on my portal if I find the charger.

I live in NYC on a pretty busy street plus my cell kept ringing to the nap was so-so usually I can sleep through the 16 wheelers but I guess when u have people yelling non-stop mixed it gets a lil HORRID.

I wanted to go back again this evening but I can't make it but I am def. going again in the morning.
 
Okay it's been a while since I posted but I have been going to the gym at least EVERYDAY for a minimum of 35 minutes on the elliptical machine I am doing okay I got on the scale in my house and it said 248 although the one at the gym saids 253 but I am just happy between the 2 I have seen a lost.

But now I am wondering if I should start doing some crunches???? I saw this lady in the gym doing them using some bar to hold her legs and I thought that seems HARD but maybe I should try it to help with the losing inches but wasnt sure....

This thing called weigh lost is sure enough hard but I can't wait until I get used to it and incorporate it into my daily lifestyle on a permanet basis.
 
Congrats on making it to the gym everyday! I know I'd not be able to do it. You're much stronger than me.

Personally, I dont like crunches. I prefer standing things that work the abs like knee to opposite elbow and squat and reach or squat then bring on knee up like you're marching. Or bringing the knee out to the side sort of like an odd marching. I think standing exercises just generally challenge us more.

Another ab exercise I absolutely love is modified plank position and holding that while rocking forward and back with my feet. I keep my elbows bent so my face is about 6 inches from the ground and it really works the arms as well. Very difficult though and I can't do it very long! At times I have to drop down to my elbows :(.
