Finally up to it again!

Hey everybody,

I'm a 16 (soon 17) year old, out on the verge to lose fat, AGAIN. Back in 2008-09, I was doing weight loss exercises, and 2 x 4-5km runs a day, and ended up losing nearly 10kg's, looking slim and trim. It wasn't soon after that I gained all the weight, and as I've grown, so has the weight I suppose but not as much considering the age difference from now and then. Despite that, I've got plenty of fat on me, back, thighs, bum, stomach and what not. But this time, I'm making use of a cross-trainer and as last time a proper diet. I started using the cross trainer last night, 20 minutes on it, with 5 minutes plus to cool down. Sweated like heaps! Did the same when I woke up today, and same result. I haven't measured my weight, but some people have suggested that try out a piece of tight clothing you have every once a week, so I'll do that and see how I go.

Does anyone have any suggestions and what not to enhance my weight loss?

Cheers :)

welcome
all the best for your weight loss journey

eat lots of fresh fruit and veg yumm maybe try counting calories or keeping a journal ?

Awesome job so far! You can't go wrong with whole foods. Track everything you eat on sites like myfitnesspal or any other nutritional tracking site you can find. Also, have fun! Don't make working out an activity that you don't look forward to doing. If you're having fun, then you're going to see the weight drop faster and faster!

Thanks guys! Just a query that's come up in my mind, will using a cross trainer help me actually lose weight that I'm carrying on my stomach, back, and bum? I'm not expecting results in the coming few weeks, but just want to know that if its worth-while doing 80% of my working out on a cross trainer?

I know several people that have had great success with cross trainers, but it really comes down to what YOU like to do the best. For me, it was a mix of cardio and weight lifting coupled with a proper diet. Don't be afraid to change it up every now and then! Keep those muscles confused :)

That sounds good. Yep, I'm planning on right now to just lose the kilos and when I think I'm in a proper, healthy and fit shape, I'll consider doing weights and such to tone up my body :)

Sid, you cannot spot reduce the problem areas but yes the cross trainer will help you loose the fat overall.

Oh fair enough. Could you suggest possible ways to do reduce the areas where majority of my body fat is fixed to? :)

Fat will come off wherever it wants to come off! Eat clean and keep exercising and you will see it melt away!

Haha, sweet ;D Woke up a bit tired this morning so didn't end up doing my 30 minute work-out, but will go for a possible 40 minute cross-training session + 4 sets x 20 of knee-push-ups (had ankle surgery 2 months back), situps and squats in the evening today :)

Thanks mate! Just wondering, should I keep my daily updates on working out on this post? Or somewhere else? :)
