I've been registered here for a couple years.. Its always been on my list of things to do. Since summer of 2009 I've went from 316 to ~265lbs at I'm 6'6" tall 25 years old.

A large chunk of it was from cutting out soda! Then started watching what I was eating and how much I was eating. I recently broke up with my girlfriend of 5 1/2 years about 6 months ago, and decided to take this a little more seriously. During the summer I started jogging for 10-15 minutes a day (1-2 miles) which is hard for me since I'm so tall and have terrible knees. While I was nursing a broken hand I would just run and watch what I ate until my hand was well enough to start lifting weights. Since the beginning of Sept til now I've been in the gym lifting weights and jogging/biking 3-5 times a week. I haven't lost anything really maybe 5lbs or so since starting at the gym.. I know I could push myself harder with my cardio but feel like what I'm doing should drop some lbs.

After my weight lifting I usually do -1-2 miles jogging or elliptical or 8-12 miles on the bike. About 1.5 hours total each day 3-5 times a week.

Either way I'm happy so far with my results and they keep me motivated to stay in the gym and keep eating decent.

Maybe you guys can give me some pointers??

My diet could be better, but its pretty good for a single college student :) It mainly consists of: Eggs, chicken, steak, rice, fish, tuna, cereal, veges, fruit and tons of water.

Heya long time lurker! welcome to the WLF world :)

I also have bad knees, im known to lay on my back behind the spin bike and pedal with my arms to keep fit at present, though i can also bike if gently :)

Well done on the weight loss! Maybe a goal of some kinda race of some kinda or fundraiser might help inspire? even a relay with others?
