Fighting Temptations

Well, it was someone's birthday in work today and they brought donuts for breakfast. Of course they were fresh bakery donuts and my desk is right next to the kitchen and that's all I could smell. So I decided, I was going to have oatmeal instead. Then in the 1:00 lunch hour, someone made cakes for everyone who had a May birthday. Holy cow, there was cake everywhere! So, I ,again with my kettle corn, popped one of my small bags and was on my merry way. Not one time in the past have I have ever passed up those kinds of food. It was so easy for me today, so I'm hoping this willpower will stay with me! I didn't know I had it in me. Okay, sorry, I had to get that off my chest because I'm so proud of myself!

Way to go!! I'm not I could have been that strong. It's definately not worth it to have those treats especially since you would have to work harder to compensate. Not having to do even more exercise is a good motivator.

Oh how I hear ya ! Saturday, I'm having my youngest son's birthday and had a chocolate cake made from a local bakery. I was sure not to get too big of a cake so there would be no leftovers. If I have any, it will be just a small piece and that's it. Sometimes when the temptation is overwhelming, go ahead and have just a little and that should get rid of your craving.

For a special occasion I would say yeah, go ahead and have a little. Unfortunately, at my work there are treats around quite often. People bring in leftovers or bring in treats to celebrate, etc. So if I had some every time they were there (like I used to!) the calories would really start to add up. So it's easier for me to just tell myself it's not allowed and skip it altogether. :)
