Few questions on H.I.I.T.

Ok so I read the sticky and it was EXTREMLY helpful. But since I am so overweight I have a few questions that apply to people like me.

For instance, I don't want to run outside so I walk/jog on a thread mill. My MRH is 194 and it said my resting is about 70+ I think. I walk and the jog for 1 min and get my HR up to about 175, then I walk again and it goes down to 150-, then jog again for 1 min at 175+, etc. Sometimes I have to walk longer than 1 min to get my HR down.

Is this in general the same thing as H.I.I.T.? I can't run right now...I am 361 lbs and jogging is about all I can handle atm. Is how I am jogging a safeway to do it?

I was boxing at home for a month and lost 20 pounds and now to avoid a wall I decided to start jogging and work up to running. I want to make sure I am burning different kinds of fuels to get the most out of my work out.

I workout for 30 mins. Walking is at 2.7mph and Jogging is at 4.5-5 one min of each. HR ranges from 175 to 140. I want to do H.I.I.T. but I am not sure if I am doing it correctly. My diet is locked down and now that I have lost 20 pounds I am really really worried that the walking and jogging isn't going to be enough to keep losing( I am very paranoid). All in all I am looking for some reassurance on how I jogg. Be truthfull please, a little reassurance goes along way with me.

I'd consider it interval training. Not H.I.I.T.

But it really doesn't matter what fuel substrate you're burning when it comes to fat loss. Just focus on doing what you can. Fuel substrate utilization matters much more when it comes to performance development.
