Feet shrinkage?

So I'm down almost 30 pounds from my highest weight and I've found that not only are none of my clothes fitting (yay weight loss!) but none of my shoes fit! I didn't realize that your shoes shrunk too when losing weight. While I was excited about getting some new clothes for the skinny me, the fact that I now have to shell out extra money for new shoes too is a little daunting. That's going to be a lot of money.

Has anyone else had feet that shrunk on them?

I think it's more the fact that your feet were fatter and you needed wider shoes. When your feet are wedged into shoes you don't even notice if they are a bit too big as your feet don't slip around in them but once you lose the fat your feet slip around and you need to buy shoes in your correct size. That's only a theory but I'm sure that the length of your feet doesn't shrink by losing weight.

I agree with Ecky. I had the same problem, shoes that usually fit suddenly seemed too big, but it turned out the length was exactly the same, it was the width that had changed, which caused me to slip out of them.

For a quick fix, if possible, try some thick socks, or see if you can tie them tighter (if they've got laces). I had some pretty hard wearing leather shoes, and stuck them in water, then dried them on the radiator, which made them a lot tighter. Of course you can't really do that with any 'nice' shoes, so I'm afraid you might need some new pairs.

I've always had wide feet, but that makes sense. All of the shoes that are bothering me are work shoes that have no laces. :( My sneakers seem fine.

I can try to find some thicker work socks, but I think you're right in that I'm going to have to suck it up and get new shoes. Bah.

I had the feet shrinkage issue as well. I'm just dealing with too big shoes for now, then as I replace them I will get a smaller size.
