Feeling Stuck...

Hi everyone! I'm new to this bored, but it looked like a place where I might be able to get some of my questions answered...
I started working out with cardio and have added weights, I have been doing both for a year now. I started at 210 pounds, and am down to 168. Which I am SO happy about... but the problem is that i've been stuck at 168 since June. I have not lost a pound since then! needless to say I'm getting pretty frustrated!! I will give a little back ground to my work outs and diet, to see if maybe anyone might have some suggestions.

Monday- Chest, Shoulders, Tri's +20-30 min of cardio
Tuesday- Cardio 45-60 mins either running or elliptical and abs
Wednesday- Back, Bi's, plus cardio
Thursday- another cardio day and abs
Friday- Legs + cardio
Saturday- Cardio....
All workouts are at 5:30 after work
In the summer I do a little more cardio because I'm able to run outside in the morning before work... but to be honest, I never saw a difference!

A typical day in my diet:
8:30- 3 eggs whites 1 yolk
10:30 - banana
12:30- salad with grilled chicken lowfat dressing,
apple
4:30- 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese
7:00 protein shake (On days that I lift)
7:30 salmon with veggies and brown rice (I tried the carb cutoff at night, but again didn't really notice a difference so I allow them on days that I lift.)

So after all this... I'm really not sure why I'm not losing more weight... I understand that muscle weighs more than fat, and I am gaining muscle with the amount of lifting that I do, but I would say that I am still considered overweight, and I don't like that!!! I also switch up my work outs so I shock my body, but that's not working anymore either! Thanks for anyone that might be able to help me! ahhhh.. I feel like I just wrote a book!

Oh I also wanted to add, that I know this is about weightloss... and this is the weightlifting forum, but weights are an important part of my workouts, and I would like to incorporate them into my weightloss!

Well first how "fat" are you? How tall are you also? Try HIIT for cardio instead of running. Your diet looks very good. You might just need to take a week off and restart.

Way undereating.
Training the wrong way.

Normally I would get long winded on you but I don't have the time. If someone else doesn't cover it I will tomorrow.

The banana, 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese, and protein shake don't really count as meals, they're more of snacks or accomodation for workout. So that leaves you will 3 full meals, which is too little. I recommend adding in one or two more meals into the day, for example you can add in one at 2:00 pm. As a reminder, since you're trying to lose weight keep eatting clean, don't fill up your meals with junk food. I also noticed that you have cardio every day, which is good for losing weight but make sure your lifting goes hand in hand with the cardio.

Good luck. :)
By the way, I'm 140 lbs and I eat more than you.. I almost feel fat. :p

I had a feeling I was undereating, but since my goal was to lose weight, I didn't want to over do it! as for my training goes... this has worked the best so far. I have a friend helping me and his routine has worked for me really well... although the weight might not be coming off, I am getting defintion and my strength is gaining. What he has taught me has gone along with everything I have read. I have tried the total body workout that women are supposed to do, but saw no improvment! Where I go to the gym has some personal trainers that are my friends... so I literally feel like I have 5 of my own trainers... but the routine I am doing now has helped the most... Also to answer another question, I am 26, 5'3 and 168... I am looking to lose weight but most of all just want to be healthy...

Thanks to everyone that took the time to answer some of my questions!

also, does anyone have any meal ideas?? i'm stuck! I took out yougurt, granola bars and peanut butter because of carbs fat and sugar and wanted to "eat clean" but now I have no ideas except bananas and cottage cheese!

I also feel SO stupid, I just noticed this is the men's weight training forum, and i'm a girl! so an extra thanks for taking the time to answer my questions... I most work out with guys, because I can't get a girl to stick with a routine with me! I guess it was a subconscience thing!

not enough carbs or essentiall fats, if you eat to little your metabolism will slow down, which is most likely why you have stopped losing fat.

fullbody workouts 3x a wk is better than a split, you will burn way more cals that way, also try some HIIT cardio you are doing to much ss-cardio IMO,
