Feeling positive & Motivated :Finally

I'm currently in-between.
My weight today is 241 lbs, my target is 225 lbs.

I'm 54, 6 ft, male and for the last few years , led a sendentary life style.
Up until 10 years ago I was pretty active, went to the dojo (Judo club, I' m a retired 2nd degree black belt) 3 nights a week, and worked out regularly.

25 years of competitive Judo took its toll, and I was told to quit. 6 years ago I had knee replacement surgery. I'm a big guy, & my fighting weight was 235 lbs (at age of 25). My weight crept up to 245, where it stayed for 6-8 years.

Two years ago I changes jobs, we sold our home, moved to a new city & built a new house. During the transition, I was commuting 1-1/2 hrs each way. I was out of the house at 6:00 am and didn't get back until 7:00 pm in the evening. I felt exhausted at the end of the day and parked my fat butt on the couch in the evenings, until bed time. My weight crept up to 268 lbs last Christmas. My doctor said it was time to loose the weight in my Feb 08 physical.

I finally decided it was time for a change. We went to the Carribean last winter & I hated the way I looked in a bathing suit. We live in the country & local gyms are all across town, so I decided on a home gym (Weider Platimum Plus) cable machine. I started working out, circuit training sessions, 3 nights a week in Feb. In March my cardio & stamina improved & I upped the work outs to 1/2 hr x 5 nights a week. We (my wife & I) also took a look at our diet and made a few improvements (fewer calories, less bad fats, more good fats, veggies etc). After 6 weeks the weight started to come off, about 1-2 pounds per week. By July I was down 25 lbs (243.5). I have been stuck at that weight until this week. I made some changes in my workouts, added an incline situp bench & a stair climber. I got some great advise to tweak my strength exercises from Steve (Thanks again Steve). I've added the stair climber after my Circuit training 3 nights a week, & do strength training 2 nights/week.

This week (Tuesday is weigh-in day) I weighed 241 lbs, and I am still 241 today.
My waist is now 38 inches down from 42.
I'm feeling great having, broken the 243 lb barrier and looking forward to hitting my goal of 225 lbs.(just 16 pounds away)

Good job! I know how you feel about pleteau's they're a real killer on your outlook. I was stuck at 205-200 forever. I changed up some things, and I broke it and back to normal speed.

Everyone can reach their goal it just takes commitment! you can do it:hurray:

Still loosing!

Another week and my weight continues to drop.

I weighed in 238 lbs this morning. I've lost 30 lbs to date.

Just 13 lbs to my target of 225 lbs.
