HI everyone!!

Heres the deal..:banghead:

I am not overweight but I have weight to lose. Which makes it even harder to lose. I have tried 23984 diets and just cant seem to eat healthy. I have been a horrible eater my whole life and changing my ways and getting rid of my addiction to sugar and carbs is very hard. I have a very jaded outlook on losing weight where I think only low carb diets work to lose the last pounds. I just need some support and success stories of people who lost weight simply by eating healthy and exercising who didnt have a lot to lose. I just need help realizing you can lose weight without starving yourself of carbs! Below are my stats and would really appreciate if someone could help me with a diet plan. Thank you so much!!!!!!

Current stats:
Height:5'5
Weight:138
BF%:27
Age:23

Goal stats:
Weight: 118
BF% 18%

I have come up with a plan. Let me know what you think of it. Below is an example..

Breakfast: 1 slice of ezekiel whole grain bread with laughing cow cheese spread; 1 cup of fruit; 1 egg
Snack:cucumbers
Lunch:pork chop cooked in olive oil; onion and asparagus; broccoli
Snack:1 serving of kashi crackers with laughing cow cheese spread
Dinner: Grilled chicken, broccoli, asparagus
Snack: Protein shake

The nutrition facts for the above day is:

Cals: 1235
fat: 63g (42g of this is from the 3 tbsp on olive oil)
protein: 93g
sugars: 28 (mostly from the fruit)

Percentages: 30% protein, 24% carbs, 46% fat

Exercise: 50 lunches, 50 squats, 30 min. of intense cardio, arm weights (about a 45 minute workout) I plan on doing this mon-fri and then sat and sun jog/speed walk 3 miles.

hello

I want to first say hello and welcome. Now, you are 23, don't let this " standards" of how a woman should look make you carzy and need to lose weight that you might now really need to lose. Don't look at the BMI scale. It is a bad way to measure yourself. I'm a guy who is 5'11" and @ 239#, for me to be at a " normal" weight by BMI standards, I should be @ 137# at the low end and 177# at the high end. The BMI doesn not take into effect you body fat %, to give you an idea, by BMI standards, Tom Cruise is considered overweight, what do you think?

Start drinking more water, be careful of retaining that water. with your exercise routine, drink about 8 bottles a day. you burn the fat and you will see the difference. Don't kill yourself about this, mentally it will hurt you.

Things will work out just fine.

Last month, April 27th actually, my father-in-law need my help with a special project, I thought it was to help him with one of his classic cars or to move some equipment, nope, I WAS THE SPECIAL PROJECT, he told me to my face that " I WAS TOO FAT TO HIRE", he even weighed me.... 244#, now I was fired from my job in Feb. of last yr., I ended up feeling so guilty about it that I stopped eating for a couple of weeks and went from 200# to 176# with a lot of muscle mass lost. But now I have this on top of my shoulders. I've been walking since May 2nd, every day but one and this week, I'm walking at least 1.5 miles, wearing a pullover so I can sweat more. My wife and her mom think I have been doing really good, I bought shorts that were 36's, and they were baggy, my father-in-law, didn't believe me. So what is my point ? The ppoint is don't get too extreme, don't get down, you WILL BE JUST FINE.

Thank you for your reply!

Im sorry to hear you lost your job over such superficial reasons! However, maybe it was a blessing in disguise if it has motivated you to become a healthier you!

I dont go by BMI. I go by what I see! And I really want to tone up and slim down. Its very hard to do when theres not much weight to lose, so I have to be very strict. And it stinks. YOu are right; I need to relax and not drain myself mentally. I hope that I can make this a lifestyle change and over time get the body i want :)
