Fat on Stomach/Face

Hi,

I am a 5"6 male around 140 lbs. Even thought i have never calculated my body fat percentage, i am certain out of those 140 lbs almost all of it is body fat instad of muscles.

Recently, i have attained a Gym Membership and cut down my eating habbits ( not really sure if i have cut down the appropriate calories).

I am very confused at this matter, and i need some guidance. Can someone tell me some healthy eating tips, how to watch calories, what in the world is the difference between good calories and bad calories.. i dont think exercising will be a problem, i just have to watch what i eat.
