Fat loss, NOT weight loss

Right, so, I'm 6'4, 205 lbs. Respectable enough, if I was to lose a few or not, meh, I don't really care. What I'm after is fat loss and muscle gain, because I could certainly do with losing a few pounds of fat, and gaining a few pounds of muscle. I'm trying to up my protein intake some, and lower my carbs and bad fat. I am of course counting my calories pretty closely now too.

What I was wondering was what the best options are in the way of fruit and vegetables. I've been told that some have a lot more sugar than others.

Any tips or comments would rock, thanks guys

My trainer doesn't recommend carrots because they are so high in sugar.

I was instructed to take two supplements by Progressive - PhytoBerry, and VegeGreens - and these vegetables were recommended to me for a 6 week weight-cutting training camp:

Fresh:
Peppers, onions, mushrooms.

Frozen:
Broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts.

Hope this helps.

So far what I've read peas, carrots, & banana's are high in sugar.

The darker the fruit and vegies the more nutrients they have in them. The better they are for you. :) and yet apples are always great for you, although I wonder how high their natural sugar is.

You can check out the Vegetarian section on here too, there may be some great tips!! ;)

honestly guys, i wouldn't worry about the sugar content of veggies and fruit all that much anyway as even with how high it is, it's very easy on your insulin levels. Any trainer or health professional restricting fruits and veggies is straight up wrong. (with _some_ exceptions. a small handful of veggies/fruits aren't the best and like possibly diabetes would have a more restricted list)

Since carrots was mentioned, here:

Hello The Man From Van,

Here is a list of some fruits, and their calories, carbs, etc. You choose:

Apples - 81 Cal - 21.1 Carbs
Banana - 105 Cal - 26.7 Carbs
Canteloupe (1/2 Cup) - 94 Cal - 22.3 Carbs
Grapefruit (1/2 Cup) - 46 Cal - 11.9 Carbs
Orange - 65 Cal - 16.3 Carbs
Peach - 37 Cal - 9.7 Carbs
Strawberries (1 Cup) - 46 Cal - 10.4 Carbs
Watermelon Diced (1 Cup) - 50 Cal - 3.6 Carbs

I wouldn't worry too much about veggies. You can search a similar list for them.

Have a good day!
Rick.

I doubt very seriously that most people got fat eating too many carrots.

It's amazing the kinds of things people obsess over. :)

Veggies are good for you. All veggies. If you're counting calories, you want to keep in mind that things like carrots have more calories than, say, celery. But don't ditch a perfectly good, healthy, nutritious veggie for silly reasons.

I've been told not to eat certain fruits and veggies. However, if i'm taking carbs out of my diet than I don't give a shit how many people say certain veggies and fruits are bad, i'm gonna eat however many of whatever fruits and veggies I want. That was a long sentence...wow. Anyway, if it's in those two categories than I say eat whatever you want.
