Extremely Noob Question

I have a general idea of what cutting and bulking are. I don't understand the why though.. someone please explain :D

You are bulking to create muscle, and that process 99.9% means that you are going to gain some, if not a lot, fat that is going to be stored on your body which will make it hard for someone to be able to check what's muscle and what's not. So, when you think that it's time to see where you really are in terms of muscle mass, you cut, which means you get rid of as much fat as possible to clearly see the gains on your muscles. How can you say whether you did well or not? By before and after photos of yourself.

Further to the above explanation, it is very difficult to effectively lose body fat and gain muscle at the same time. It is possible yes however it is a very long process and requires much attention to your diet. It is MUCH more more efficient in the long run to go through bulk and cut cycles which is why people do it.

Ok, so if i were to tell u that 6/7 days i workout, half are weight training and half are running, what would i be considered doing? Cutting?

your 6 days of training doesn't mean ANYTHING.

cutting and bulking is 95% diet. its a calorie thing. If you have a surplus of calories, you bulk up (either fat, muscle, or both).
If you have a calorie deficit, you're cutting (hopefully just fat, but if you cut wrong, you waste muscle tissue as well, sometimes a LOT of muscle tissue).

you'd have to describe your daily diet, with exact portion sizes, or post your daily macro nutrient intakes (fat, carbs, protein - in grams), plus your height, weight, age, and lifestyle...so we can estimate a maintenance intake and then see if your actual intake puts you at, above, or below that number.
