Exercising help

I was hoping you guys could help me out with this topic.

Right now im sitting at around 225lbs at 6'0". My body fat percentage is unknown, but if i had to guess i would say around 20%. I go to the gym 5 days a week. What I'm trying to accomplish is to get to 190 or below and become cut. I don't want to be too bulky as I play soccer, and hopefully when my leg heals, will be playing college once again. I use the elliptical religiously as it is the best for knees,2-3 miles 4 days a week(since Im not capable to run without irritating my knee for now).

My lifting is where I become clueless. I try to do a minimum of 100 inclined situps a day. I work my Obliques doing 2 sets of 10 for each side every day, and i do your normal leg exercises, leg curls, 1/2 squats, etc. I have had meniscus surgery over the summer and now my therapist thinks i may have some type of tendonitus (i forget what its called). So im trying to strengthen it back up ASAP.

For the rest of my workout, it is a mess. I do 2 sets with a decent amount of reps always. I just don't know what is best for me to acheive my goals. Some people prefer to work out certain areas of the body in one day, this doesn't feel good for me and I usually do parts for each area of the body every day. Is this bad, or can it work well? I also read on here that running isnt good if you do it before a workout? I have done this all my life, whats the effects? Do you recommend the elliptical over everythign else I could do?

Before I was running 3 miles a day, then lifting with a buddy. I was taking Diet-tech before my workouts and dropped 33 pounds in 2 months 233lbs to 200lbs. It was an amazing loss, but I feel losing that much weight that quick cant be good for you. I take GNC Multivitamins every day as well, and I am about to start taking Hydroxycut too see if i can gain from that as well.

I am stronger now (upper body) than i was when i lost all that weight. I'm just at a loss, I feel I have abotu 4 months to get into the shape I want or I won't be able to do what I want in school. Soccer has been my life and I feel as if i need to try out this year.

Any information would be appreciated. Your thoughts, Own experience, whatever. there is no such thing as useless information.

I had surgery to remove damaged portions of my meniscus 20 years ago. A combination of leg extensions, leg curls, stretching and minimal running/cardio for 10 years was required before I was comfortable running on my knee. I still have to severly limit the volume of cardio and even weights I do with that knee to prevent problems.

After my surgery I started doing leg extensions and leg curls, up to a hundred reps per set with minimal weight, gradually increasing weight over time...
