Exercise with Sauna Suit/Sweat Suit

Many years ago (12 or so) I remember fellow rubgy players trying to shift pre season weight by wearing bin bags, i have just seen advertised above a reebok vinyl suit (similar principle i presume). At the time it was debunked as just losing water weight which would be gained when you rehydrated is this the same line of thought at the moment.

Hii Geordie,
I am sorry but I want to conclude that there is no easy way to lose wait and I don't believe in these kind of suits or different type of belt which promises to loss the weight quickly and easily. As my friend has tried it and the gadget doesn't done any thing.

Any weight you lose while wearing the bag / suit will just be water weight, as you said.

The principle here is that by exercising "hot", you raise your metabolism enough to burn more calories. Truthfully the amount of increase you'll get from wearing the suit is negligible. People will think it works because of all the water weight they'll lose sweating - but it won't stay off.

Agree 100% with KaraCooks, no impact on weight loss other than water.

I will add this note though.

I actually use a sweat suit about once a week/2 weeks at the gym. I sweat buckets when I use it so have to be really careful to hydrate well before, during, and after use.

For some reason it feels really good to me to have a really good sweat every once in a while. I used to do this in a dry sauna every once in a while but don't have that available at my current gym.

It's hard to describe, but sweating out a bunch of water and replenishing it gives me kind of a cleaned out feeling. I'm sure there is no real science to it, but it does feel good to me.

Be aware that it can be dangerous if you overheat, or if you don't stay hydrated. I would not recommend it for any impact on true weight loss.
