Exercise question

Ok, so I'm going to begin calorie counting. I've been exercising everyday for about 20-30 mins. Cardio by rebounding and using a punching bag. My question is how do you truly know when you're in a calorie deficit? Obviously working out for 30 mins won't accomplish this right?

Hope this isn't a stupid question.

Your question isn't really clear.
So, I'll answer the best I can.
What's important is know how many calories you should be eating in a day for maintenance, and weight loss.
In order to find out the total NET calories you consume, subtract calories eaten minus calories burned by exercise.
You can find out how many calories you need daily online, as well as how many calories certain exercise burn off.
I'd post links, but you can just google them.
(I didn't post links because most of them have advertising, and that's not allowed here)

I have a stupid answer I suppose... Usually you tend to feel rather dizzy, light headed.. sometimes get a head ake... I was try to stay away from this, it's a horrid feeling. Do what that other person said. It's good to know your right calorie intake for you so you can avoid feeling like poop.
Hope that helps

I think that ^ might be caused by dehydration.
I've only been rarely that dehydrated (2 or 3 times, maybe), but I clearly remember having a wicked headache from it.

Oh yeah well that happens too for sure.. but I've drank tons of water before and didn't eat much. So I think that has to do with the little calorie intake I had.

30-45 minutes of exercise is really good, as long as it's intense exercise.

Anything over an hour can result in stress to the body, which release a hormone called cortisol which tries to combat the stress. Some research suggests that this cortisol encourages body fat. So keep it short but keep it intense.
