Exercise Question

I need some help figuring out if I should be exercising more or if Im doing the right type of exercising. I only drink water and about 80 ounces a day sometimes though I do drink tea, and I walk on my treadmill for at least 30 minutes at 2.3 or 2.5mph, and I have also cut out all of the sugar that I used to eat, chips, and anything else that I think is really fatty. My question is could I be doing more? The HS I went to has a weight training facility and I could go and do some strength training, or should I try another way to exercise not just walk on the treadmill like get one of those gazelle machines, im asking cause im 22 4'11 and weight about 155 pounds which is considered obese for my height and im afraid to do to much because of that anyways any help or advice would be great. Thanks a bunch :)

Hello Katie and welcome! It sounds like you're doing great.

You can step up your exercise as you feel capable. Strength training is a wonderful idea and can be a great asset to your weight loss.

There is a thread on the gazelle here: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/weig...e/7784-has-anyone-used.html?highlight=gazelle. It sounds like most people who have them think it would be wiser to invest a little more in a sturdier elliptical.

There are lots of different kinds of exercise you could do, dancing, gardening, biking, whatever you enjoy. Don't worry about doing too much - your body will tell you when enough is enough. Just listen to your body and when it says to slow down, slow down.
