Exercise bike

Hey, I'm trying to lose weight again. I started at 143lbs and have got down to 140.. yay! But that took like 2 months because I keep not bothering to exercise and binging on chocolate when I'm supposed to be eating healthily!

I've been trying to use my exercise bike every day but I'm so unfit that it's difficult. I get really hot and sweaty after only about 10 minutes when I usually try to do 30 and I'm practically dead at the end of that! Anyway, I was just wondering, would I lose more weight doing 30 minutes once a day or doing 15 minutes twice a day? Or would it not make any difference?

I don't think it matters when you do it, it matters how you do it.

When I started out it was too cold to go on my real bike, so I used my old exercize bike / fan. If yours doesn't have a fan, hook one up in front of you - it will help keep you cool.

Also, I saw real results with doing a sort of interval training on the exercize bike. About a minute of "rest" cycling followed by 10-12 seconds of hard, hard pedaling, then back to a minute of rest. I did this as many times as I could and over the months, I built up my strength and endurance so that I could do more sets and longer moments of hard cycling. Then, when I finally got out on my REAL bike, WHOO HOO! I could finally do hills without killing myself.

I still use the stationary bike on off days or rainy days, but it has really helped me get stronger and is a real heart pumper. But you have to be the one to make it so - push push push, rest... push push push, rest...

And make sure you have a little breakfast with protein before you go on it.

Just my .02c.
