Excitement about weight loss

This may seem insignificant for most people, and I think most people would even think it's pretty stupid, but I'm 3lbs away from making it back onto the BMI chart on Fitday.

I haven't been on the fitday chart since atleast 2006. And soon I will be.

I haven't been 240lbs since 2005 atleast. And soon I will be.

I haven't been under 200lbs since 2003. And soon I will be.

Yesterday was the first time I ever noticed a difference in the mirror.

I am finally seeing the results of my work, and now, I'm ready. I'm ready to keep losing. I motivated myself to do something, and I'm doing it! I finally am starting to be happy with myself.

Have any of you experienced this ?

it's those personal milestones that make this journey the adventure that it is :) Hold onto this memory because it will keep you going...

one of mine was making out off the obese range on the bmi chart.. I didn't give a rats ass about getting below 200 but 202 was a big one.

Fitting into Victoria's Secret lingerie was another one...

the most fun one though - trying on clothes in a store -and having to get a smaller size because the size i picked was too big :)

I can't even imagine what it'll be like to get out of the obese range. My goodness I can't. I guess I'll just have to wait for it?

Affording it is another story :p

That would be the best for me too...I HATE trying on clothes, even sizes I'm SUPPOSED to fit into and they don't fit. I dream of the day they do.

You've done amazing work Mal. Did you have a goal outfit at all (a specific one)?

I've had many many goal outfits... I think it's impractical (and a plethora of other adjectives) to get a goal outfit that's so far out of range that it might be a year or more for it to fit... That is not helpful.. My goal outfits were all a size or so smaller than I am currently in.. and every week I'd try it on and sooner or later it'd fit.. And then get to wear it :D

I never really thought about it like that! That's quite a smart thing to do!

Clearance racks become your best friend... :) I dont pay full price for anything... because I have no real intention of being in it for all that long...

And full price is just a little excessive. I have no intentions of ever paying $50 for a pair of pants, whether I'm going to fit in them for a long time, or not. I can just wait til the $50 pants go on clearence for $20.

you sound just like me with the clearance, lol.. i had this favorite skirt in a size 16, it is too big now but i found it in a size 12 yesterday (for $8 no less) that will be really close to fitting. i am a little more extreme though, i have a box of clothes in smaller sizes though i usually wait a couple weeks to try stuff on.

regarding the milestones.. yeah, probably when i could buy clothes in a regular store, not lane bryant. that is the point where i had gotten around to losing 95 pounds.

Clothes is a big problem for me right not. I've lost 50 pounds so nothing fits but I still want to lose around 20 more pounds. I figure when I hit my goal I'll go on a shopping spree.

Auntie Mal says -you always feel better and have far less of a chance of relapsing when your clothes fit your current body... Don't wait til you hit a specific size... tailors clearance racks, second hand shops all cheap options... get rid of the fat clothes and treat yourself to a few things that fit...

A thousand congratulations are in order for you! I completely adore your determined attitude. You're going to achieve your goals and surpass them. You are in it to win it.

The best feeling is when you try on a size you initially believe you may be... and have to opt for one smaller. I remember when I first started exercising I didn't really put effort into purchasing new clothes. I was wearing my size 14/16 pants for the longest time, they were falling off. So I decided to go purchase new ones so they wouldn't fall down as I walked up the stairs. I first tried on a 12... I could pull those up over my thighs buttoned. Then a 10. Then, for shits and giggles a 6... and it fit. I had reached and surpassed a goal without even being aware of the dramatic change I had undergone.

I can't wait for you to have those kind of moments, because you will with your mind set.

I don't think any milestone could be considered insignificant, especially if it's important to you. And I second the vote to go shopping to celebrate.
