Hi everyone,

I've been reading threads on this website for a few weeks and weirdly enough I sort of feel like I know some of the members from following their diaries. I'd thought I'd join up and share my experiences with people in the hope of giving myself the accountability I need.

A little about me - My name is Pip, I'm 22 and currently weigh 255llbs. I've lost 15llbs thus far through healthier eating and doing some exercise. I'm 5ft10 and a healthy weight for me (I feel anyway) would be 180llbs or so. Wow that sounds like a lot when I see it written down. I plan to focus on small goals, otherwise I'll get disheartened.

First goal - 230llbs

I'm the type of person who needs lots of encouragement and support. I find looking at the before and after pictures a huge inspiration. I'd love love love to have an online community of buddies who understand what we each go through on our journey to a slimmer, healthier, even more beautiful life hehe.

I hope to start up a weight loss diary, so would love for you to follow my journey and give me several kicks up the arse (very British) when I need them. Look forward to meeting you all........:newbie:

Hi Pip! Welcome to the forum! Feel free to check out the stickies - they are very helpful. Also be sure and check out the diary section - if you start a weight loss journal in the diary section it can be a great motivation.

Oh and trust me, the amount you have to lose is VERY reachable! Some people on this site have lost over 200 lbs. I myself are on a journey to lose 245 lbs. So, yeah, count yourself lucky. And know that YOU CAN DO THIS! :D

Good luck on your journey and if you have any questions feel free to ask. :)

Thanks Stacey. Yeah sometimes the weight just seems like a massive mountain to climb, but when I look at the before and after section of the forum I'm like...yeah I can do this. The support on here is ace!! I have started up a diary, called 'One step at a time', check it out, hopefully I can get a little group of regulars going and we can all support each other. Congrats on what you've lost so far, like I said, my first goal is 30llbs, so you're an inspiration hehe. Hopefully speak soon, pip x

I'll definitely check out your diary. :) It looks like you're close to your first goal! Way to go!

Hmmm, not quite hun, i want another 30llbs off. That's the first goal. To be honest, I'd be thrilled to be that weight as I probably haven't been for several years. Like I said, here we go.....LOL. How's your day going? What time is it where you are? x

Oh I must have misunderstood you when you wrote "Congrats on what you've lost so far, like I said, my first goal is 30llbs" - your signature says you've lost 15 lbs, so I figured you where half way to your first goal. But I guess maybe you meant 30 more lbs?

My day is going great! I tried out a couple of Aerobic Dance videos on Netflix today, lots of fun and total calorie scorchers. I never thought I'd have fun doing aerobic exercise, but I am! :D Thanks for asking, sweetie! :) What time is it here? It's 2:30 am... soooo late. heheh I need to get to bed. I'm a night owl but I'm trying to fix that.

Ohhhh sorry stacy, I wasn't very clear obviously. Yes I have lost fifteen llbs already, but my first goal is to lose another 30. It feels like a lot, more than two stone, but I think in 30llbs time I should be a size 16, ermmm a size 12 for you americans I think. I haven't been a 16 since I was about 14 years old. How sad is that?! Nevermind, I'm changing that now and that's the important thing.

Ooooh those exercise vids sounds great. My front room isn't big enough, but I have a gym membership so I've been plodding away on the treadmill and doing some classes. Fitball tomorrow, yeyyyyyyyyy.:rotflmao:

Weighed myself this morning, I am now 254llbs. 1 down...29 to go hehe x

I understand how you feel about it seeming like a lot. I can't wait until I hit 50 lbs down too... Then I think wow, even after losing 50 pounds I have nearly 200 more to lose! lol This is going to take a while...that's for sure!

I'm so jealous that you have a gym membership! I can't afford one right now. Hopefully I'll be able to afford one some day. For now I'm just grateful that I have Wii Fit Plus and Netflix to watch exercise videos on. :)

Congratulations on losing another pound! That's one more step closer to your first goal! :D What's your plan for celebrating your 50 lbs lost goal?

By the way, I like your ticker - it's cute! :)

It's sweet isn't it? Thanks Stacy, I've just joined the August 10llb challenge, that would be fab. Posted today's weight, so I'll keep up with it and hopefully in four short weeks I'll be 244llbs, awesome!

I love the wii, we have one at work for the kids and I'm always like it's my turn now, gimme gimme hehe. Tennis is my fave, but watching people do the hula hoop on wii fit makes me laugh soooo much. Still if it works and gives you a damn nice booty, a few giggles can be dealt with I reckon hehe.

50llbs loss? Seems like an age away. I think when I reach 30llbs from now, which I guess will be 45llbs in total, I will treat myself to a nice party dress. Hopefully from a 'normal' shop. I adore fashion and think I'm quite fashionable as I am, but it is what it is, many styles I'd love to wear aren't made in my size and would look dreadful if they were. Maybe a new pair of heels, I struggle to walk in them, and I simply think it's because I'm putting too much weight on the balls of my feet. I can't wait to be lighter and feel less pain, good job I'm 5ft10 and rarely wear them anyway hehe x

That's exactly why I'm on this journey. I've had to shop in plus sized shops since I was about 12 years old, so I've never been able to wear fashionable and cute clothes (plus size clothes are 99% dreadful - so frumpy and ugly! - and the other 1% is always out of my price range). My goal is to, for the first time in my life, go into a normal store, shop in the normal section, and buy a cute outfit off the rack! It will be SO NICE to be able to go in just about any store and find clothes that fit me! Not to mention CHEAPER! Goodness, so many plus sized stores are so much more expensive than average clothing stores. An average girl in my area can pick up a pair of jeans for 14 dollars, most jeans that are my size are 30 - 60 dollars!

Welcome aboard. You will find so much inspiration here it has really helped me alot. I used to be so lazy and what I ate was so bad. Now if I have moments where I get irritated and feel like I have so far to go I just come here and read others stories to give me a boost. Cheers and heres to weight loss and a new life!!!!!

Ah Stacy, it sucks that you go through it too, but it's great that we will accomapny each other on our escape hehe. One day, whenever that is, we will walk into a normal shop and buy normal clothes. It doesn't matter when it is, because if we weren't losing weight at all, then it would be never. Does that make sense?

Moodringgirl - Hi, nice to hear from you. Check out my weight loss diary, me and stacy are getting pretty chatty over there too hehe. This site has been amazing already and I haven't used it for long. I'm on here all the time, getting tips and tricks and inspiration from other diaries and the before and after section. Simply incredible. I took pictures of my 'before body' today, although technically I've already shrunk a size. Not brave enough to post them yet, but when I see a noticeable loss I definitely will! See you around the forum x

That makes perfect sense! :iagree: And you're right, it doesn't matter how fast we get there as long as we get there and enjoy the journey! Every day of healthy living is one day closer to our goals! We are doing it!

Rock on, sweetie~! We'll get there soon!
