Excessive Sweating

This is an understatement. Let me give you a brief history of my situation:

1. Morbidly obese non smoker (HBP, Diabetes, everything...)
2. Underweight nonsmoker (In one year at 6'0, I went from 340 to 150...seriously)
3. Back to morbidly obese and smoking again after 5 years (Back to HBP, diabetes, etc.) 320 lbs Resting heartrate was ~110.
4. Currently just overweight non smoker 205 pounds this morning. Lost 115 pounds since 10/14/07. Current resting heart rate low 50's. No more HPB or diabetes.

I like to run. That's one reason I lost all the weight in the past. I run around 6 miles everyday on a treadmill at the gym. As it was in the past and is now. I sweat when I excercise...very badly. Today for example, I hopped on my bike and rode to the gym about 4 miles away. I then ran 6 miles. After the 6 miles, my shorts were soaked, my socks were soaked...I was soaked. I belong to a pretty big popular gym and I am not exaggerating that I have seen no one, and I mean no one, sweats as much as me.

I'm not overly tired when I excersise, I just sweat way to much. A side effect of me sweating is I can never get enough salt. I bet I fill my salt shaker every couple of weeks. My doctor doesn't seem concerned, but this can't be normal.

After I got home today, I messed around the house a bit and then started to get blurry vision and really lightheaded. I checked my BP and it was 69/50. I had something to drink and then some really salty soup and my BP went up to 113/69. This excessive sweating is really causing dehydration issues. Is there anything that can be done?

You'll have to seek clarification but i believe a sympothectamy could reduce your sweating significantly. What they do is disrupt the nerve signals to your body which induce sweating.

That BP is really low! You might have to consider altering your food/drink intake or drugs to maintain your electrolyte levels. Hasn't your doctor mentioned anything?

That blood pressure isnt that low, its still inside the normal range. Its hard to say what your body is doing when it is sweating that much but it could be something wrong with temperature regulation. I have never experienced anything like that so im not sure. Maybe consult your doctor.

nice chart!

One of my friends has excessive sweaty hands and after an operation it was all good.

What i might suspect is that the salt loss from your arteries is dragging water with it which is giving you such a low BP. If you measured your cardiac output you'd probably find its quite low.
