Excess skin before and after pictures?

Hello, I'm 23 years old and this is my first post on these forums, I've actually been lurking here for about half a year. Anyways this morning I hit the big one-oh-oh in my weight loss going from 310 to 210. (I've lost 85 lbs since January)

However I'm getting a little worried about the excess skin, which it is getting pretty obvious I'll have plenty of. I know, I know, I've done plenty of research on excess skin... drink plenty of water, genetics, young age, length of time you've been fat, ect.

I was actually wondering if anyone had any weblinks or pics of their (or someone elses) skin before and after it shrunk back to normal. An estimate on the length of time it took would be nice too. I was just hoping to have some pictures I could compare my own excess skin to. Its hard to find pictures like this as google turns up nothing but pictures of tummy tucks...

I found one website that had something like what i was looking for, but these forums won't let me post urls....

Thanks

you aren't allowed to post links -but there is a before and after forum where some people have posted pictures of their weight loss.

At your age - as long as you've been smart about your weight loss and haven't gone for the speed method -you shouldn't have an issue..

I know about the before and after forum..... I looked through all 500 posts and only found one that was actually what I was looking for... I was wondering if anyone had anymore they could share...

This post, and read the whole thread if it helps you stop your whining. You've got a long, long ways to go before you even need to start thinking about worrying.

Here's a post I made addressing the same subject just yesterday:

But either way, shut up and do it. :) 14% is still pretty high, for a boy. Get under 8% [body fat], and then start to worry. But even after that, all you have to do is add some lean mass to thicken up your torso. Like inflating a balloon. But it's pretty unlikely that will even be necessary. The whole loose skin thing is an excuse/cop out far, far, far more often than it's a real problem. These things take dedication, and time. You don't just suddenly reverse what it took you years of laziness and unhealthiness to achieve. Might take a few months or even as long as a couple years for your skin to finish tightening up, but it will. In the meantime, train hard, eat well, and take care of yourself.

And just for the record, I have lost more weight than you, am about 20 lbs away from said 8% body fat, and am not at all worried about loose skin.

However, if you're not weight training, you'd damn well better start. Google westside for skinny bastards and get on it. And to give you an idea, you are probably still at something like 30-35% body fat, if you haven't been weight training consistently. What you think is loose skin are hanging folds filled with fat.

.... whining? ... wow... I was just asking... thanks for the link though!

ah good point though. I heard that if you can pinch the skin and not feel your fingers its still technically fat. Fortunately I have a very manual labor intensive job. I work at UPS unloading boxes from trailers and sorting them.

I've always been a little more of a visual type of person. I was just wondering if anyone documented any pictures of this stuff since there are so many before and after pictures of fat loss, but very few regarding excess skin, minus the countless tummy tuck ones.

You are jogging on the spot twitching, eager and hellbent on creating a problem in your own mind just so you have something to complain about. I thought I was being nice calling it whining. It's more like uberwhining. :nopity:

Anyway, don't take me too seriously, that's just my sarcastic manner. :D

Loose skin is sort of like stretch marks in that everyone worries about them before it makes any sense to worry, and then forgets about them later when it fails to become/remain a problem. Just look at the author of that thread. He was all, 'Oh noes! whine whine whine, I'm so discouraged.' Then a couple of good peoples smacked up the clowns telling him it might never go away (exactly what he did NOT need to hear, and more importantly, possessing a very low probability of veracity).

Then after just a couple months of being patient, he made some amazing progress and of course disappeared without a trace without bothering to update pics for people like you who are going through exactly what he did. Sort of puts me taking the time, effort and care to call you a crybaby into perspective. :p

Let me draw you a picture:

( -------------- O -------------- ) __________ X

The O is your circle of influence, the (--) is your circle of concern, the X is where you are: way the shit lost. :D As my girlfriend finds it necessary to tell me every time we go on a trip, "Just follow the map."
